Unique Full names for the nickname Rory(g)?

Besides [name]Aurora[/name] are there any full names that [name]Rory[/name] could be a nickname for?
I am really liking [name]Rory[/name] but I feel like its a little too nicknamey. It would be nice if it started with an R but I will take any suggestions that sound like [name]Rory[/name] could work as a NN for.

Well, I’ll do my best for you.

Stars with:

[name]Rora[/name] - dawn - really just a short form of [name]Aurora[/name]
Rorea - red king

contains:

Aurorette - dawn - This is interesting
Derora - flowing brook, freedom
Derorice

Other:
most of these are “maybe” to me, but they all have that OR sound

[name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]
Amoura
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Mallory[/name]
[name]Romilly[/name]
[name]Carollyn[/name]
[name]Roxana[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Valora[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]

Does any of that work for you?

Out of those I like [name]Victoria[/name] best, and I can see it working. I was just hoping there was something out there that I would just go A-HA, that’s it! I like [name]Lorelai[/name] but I really don’t understand how [name]Rory[/name] came from [name]Lorelai[/name], even though I love [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls. [name]Romilly[/name] is kind of along the lines of what I was thinking but it’s not quite perfect.

I knew a [name]Corrine[/name] who went by [name]Rory[/name]. Out of the list above I adore [name]Mallory[/name], so underused.

[name]Rory[/name] is a stand alone name, it’s a phonetic spelling of an Irish Gaelic name,so I wouldn’t worry about it being a nickname. It is more of a boys name however(well, this side of the Atlantic anyway).
Names like [name]Aurora[/name] are so pretty, it seems a waste of time to name your daughter such a name and then nickname her [name]Rory[/name]. [name]Both[/name] good names in their own right in my opinion.

[name]Lauren[/name]
[name]Lorraine[/name]
[name]Lorena[/name]

That’s all I can think of

My first thought was [name]Rowan[/name].

What about [name]Aria[/name]?

Yep I agree with Kalebsmom…[name]Rowan[/name] is my favorite name for girls an I would use [name]Rory[/name] as a nickname

My daughter’s name is [name]Rory[/name] and, while of course it can be a nickname for a whole range of names, hayley88 is correct: It’s an old, traditional, authentic name all on its own and doesn’t need a longer form, especially one that’s so different, like [name]Corinne[/name], that it’s sure to be vastly confusing throughout life. This of it like [name]Mary[/name] or [name]Finn[/name]: [name]Just[/name] because they’re short doesn’t mean they originated as nicknames or that they’re incomplete. Inventing a long form is like gilding the lily, ie, the long form may be a lovely name in its own right, but the overall effect is not an improvement.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Rory[/name] from [name]Rosemary[/name]? That’s one I’ve never seen.

[name]Aurelia[/name] was my inital thought. My wife says “Why does [name]Rory[/name] need to be a nickname? It’s quite pretty all on it’s own.”
