I think [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] sounds best with the middle names.
I prefer [name_u]Max[/name_u] unless you can be persuaded to spell [name_m]Macsen[/name_m] correctly. [name_u]Max[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Derek[/name_m] really doesn’t sound bad, though. Flow isn’t that important.
I really like just [name_u]Max[/name_u].
[name_m]Maxen[/name_m] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u], best of two worlds!
Ditto @southern.maple, I voted for [name_u]Max[/name_u] because I prefer [name_m]Macsen[/name_m] to [name_m]Maxen[/name_m]; [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] doesn’t look right to me. You could still definitely use [name_u]Max[/name_u] as a nn for [name_m]Macsen[/name_m]
[name_u]Max[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Derek[/name_m] sounds as if they belong to three different boys. All I think of with that combo is a teacher or mother scolding or calling threeseperate boys. “[name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Derek[/name_m], time to come in…”
I love [name_u]Max[/name_u] on its own. [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] sounds too much like [name_m]Maxim[/name_m], the men’s magazine, for my comfort. If you’re set on something longer, I assume you’ve already considered all the options? My favorite is [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], which I think sounds nice with your daughters name. But nothing beats just straight [name_u]Max[/name_u]!
[name_m]Maxen[/name_m] reminds me of when people name a girl [name_f]Gracen[/name_f] instead of [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]. It looks made up. Also, sounds like [name_m]Maxim[/name_m]. (Which come to think of it, I prefer) A little kree8iv.
I also recommend [name_m]Macsen[/name_m]. [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] looks trendy & made up. [name_m]Macsen[/name_m] is a more mature & timeless choice. He can still go by [name_u]Max[/name_u], or Macs or [name_m]Mac[/name_m]
I prefer [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u].
There’s also Maxson which is a fairly common surname. I prefer [name_u]Max[/name_u] to [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] but like Maxson.
I would definitely go with [name_m]Maxen[/name_m]. Unlike a lot of people on here I actually really prefer the spelling of [name_m]Maxen[/name_m]. I strongly considered that name so well
I like the look of [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] a lot more than [name_m]Macsen[/name_m] as was suggested, and it’s pronunciation seems more straightforward to me. Although [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] doesn’t seem too much like a name to me perhaps you would like the french saint’s name [name_m]Maxence[/name_m].
[name_m]Maxence[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Derek[/name_m] sounds lovely to me!
I prefer [name_m]Maxen[/name_m], but with the middles swapped, so [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] I…
