Something I’ve noticed is that some unisex names give off different vibes when it’s used for a boy vs for a girl. For example girl Charlies are usually very alternative and indie while boy Charlies usually are very British preppy sporty type guys. Has anyone else noticed that?

I think there’s a few names which are classic and ‘respectable’ on a boy but now being used for girls in a more cool-girl, perhaps edgy way like August or James.
Then there’s names like Vivian, Meredith or Evelyn which on a girl seem granny-cool and vintage but on a boy they’re very upper-class and romantic (to me anyway!).
Ditto this
Darcy. On a boy it gives the same vibes as Basil, on a girl, it’s the same vibes as Kasey. But Casey (b) and Kasey (g) have the same vibes.
I mainly notice an age/generation or location thing with unisex names. For example, a female [name_u]Leslie[/name_u] could be fairly young (like the actress/singer [name_u]Leslie[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] for example), but a male [name_u]Leslie[/name_u] is almost certainly an elderly man. [name_u]Or[/name_u] a male [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] is probably from [name_u]England[/name_u], while a female [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] could be from pretty much any country in the world that uses Westernised names.
What a great point. I totally agree!!
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] for me. On a boy it’s a refreshing unexpected nature name, on a girl it’s more of a new age vibe.
This is so funny to me because I think of girl Charlies as being sporty and preppy while boy Charlies are more the artsy type, playing the guitar and wanting to be an indie musician!
Riley is one that gives me different vibes. For a girl, it’s cartwheels and sarcastic comments and daisy chains, whereas for a boy it’s wool sweaters and foggy mornings and biking around the neighborhood.
For me, [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] sound give off a fun, rugged, sporty, somewhat preppy, really cool vibe on boys but feel kind of snobby on girls.
[name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] are edgy on girls. They make me picture women with ‘different’ hair styles/colors who are absolutely the type of women you see and want to get to know. For men, they make me picture retired grandpas who perpetually nap in an armchair with their hands folded over their bellies.
[name_u]Logan[/name_u] definitely gives off different vibes for each gender. I prefer it on girls for some reason
[name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_u]Max[/name_u]! For a girl I get rough and tumble tomboy where on a boy I get soft, cuddly and artsy
I agree with a lot of the other posters here as well, though [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] gives me kind of the same preppy, bubbly, outgoing vibe for both a girl or a boy though that may be because I know a lot of Charlie’s at this point (5 that are around a year old)
[name_u]June[/name_u] has a quite different feelings. [name_u]June[/name_u] for a girl is a bit more vintage, while for a boy its unique and new.
[name_u]Darcy[/name_u].
For a girl it’s cute, like [name_f]Marcie[/name_f]!
On a boy it says ‘ten thousand a year!’ and you have to pronounce it daaahcy.
[name_f]My[/name_f] own name, [name_u]Avery[/name_u].
For a boy it’s somewhat preppy but also has a kind of wild and eccentric undertone
For a girl it gives off a strong-willed dreamy princessy vibe, I don’t think it really fits me but it could definitely be worse
