so I am due in early december and am not sure what I’m having. I have been undecided on a girl name even though we have settled on a boy name. When we chose our daughter’s name we wanted to make a bold choice. We chose [name]Juniper[/name]. Now, for this child who could potentially be a girl, we want an equally spunky name and love [name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Coralie[/name]. It is an interesting choice, but we love it. What arte your thoughts and impressions?
I love [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Coralie[/name]. I’m not too fond of [name]Fuchsia[/name] as a name, although I adore the color. What about [name]Indigo[/name]?
I love [name]Fuchsia[/name] & I love [name]Coralie[/name]…but not together cause I see/hear 2 colors…fuchsia & coral.
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Annelise[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Connelly[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Jessamyn[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Marilyn[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Fuchsia[/name] [name]Verity[/name]
I think [name]Fuchsia[/name] is potentially a tricky name, especially if your daughter travels when she’s older. I’m not sure about pronouncing it in other languages, maybe someone else could weigh in about that. For a non-English speaker, I can see someone limping along with Fuch-sia, rather than Fu-sha. But kudos to you for imagining it. I’m partial to both [name]Wisteria[/name] and [name]Zinnia[/name], so I find this very interesting and I’m eager to read what others will say.
[name]Fuchsia[/name] is a name I like a lot in theory but in practice . . . eh. The only [name]Fuchsia[/name] I’ve ever heard of, Sting’s daughter, ended up going by her more “normal” middle name later in life. She may have even legally changed it! The main problem I have with it is the spelling, which makes it look like it might be pronounced f***s-ya.
If your other daughter’s name is [name]Juniper[/name], you already have one “u” sound in the family. You know what I think is an even cooler name in the same vein as [name]Fuchsia[/name] and sounds like an even better sibset with [name]Juniper[/name]? [name]Magenta[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Magenta[/name]!
I don’t love [name]Fuchsia[/name]. I think [name]Juniper[/name] is very cute and sweet and will age well but [name]Fuchsia[/name] doesn’t have the best sound and is very likely to be mispronounced and also the “Fuch” thing could open her up to a lot of teasing. From your list [name]Finola[/name], [name]Zinnia[/name], [name]Minerva[/name], [name]Olive[/name], and [name]Marigold[/name] are better options in my opinion. That being said, if you absolutely adore [name]Fuchsia[/name] and can’t imagine using anything else then by all means use it.
I am super confused about the pronounciation. It’s a [name]German[/name] name that is pronounced “Fook-see-ah” so I figured English speakers would say “Fuk-see-ah” which would be kind of unlucky. But apparently I was wrong, you pronounce it Foo-sha, right? (It’s funny to me, I have no idea where that pronounciation comes from) Yeah but I think it is usable as foo-sha, not so much as fuk-see-a… I kind of like the name though I’m not too fond of foreign names that are pronounced in made-up ways. I like how the name looks and with [name]Juniper[/name] it makes a great sibset.
I really like the whole unusual color names thing…and [name]Coralie[/name] sounds really cute in the middle, but I’m just not sure I love the sound of [name]Fuchsia[/name]. It’s the whole “Feww” first syllable; I guess it just doesn’t really appeal to me. Is it the color you love or the sound of [name]Fuchsia[/name] in general that you’re drawn to? Some other unusual color names that sound a lot more appealing, imho are:
[name]Magenta[/name]
[name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Crimson[/name]
[name]Auburn[/name]
[name]Navy[/name]
[name]Saffron[/name]
[name]Viridian[/name]
[name]Teal[/name]
[name]Russet[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name]
I actually really like color names, just not so crazy about [name]Fuchsia[/name] I guess! I love the name [name]Juniper[/name] though, by the way!
I don’t think [name]Fuchsia[/name] goes well with [name]Juniper[/name]…
I absolutely love [name]Juniper[/name] but I can’t help but feel like [name]Fuchsia[/name] falls short. I’m not a fan sorry! I love [name]Coralie[/name] though. Why not use that as the first name?
Suggestions:

I like [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Coralie[/name] a lot!
In English, fuschia is pronounced “few-sha”, and is the name of both a color and a flower. The color takes its name from the flower and the flower derived its name from a [name]German[/name] scientist with the surname of Fuchs. Not sure where Fuchs became “few-sha”, but it’s a pretty familiar word and it’s been in use for a long time. I doubt there would be any pronunciation confusion with the average English speaker. It seems like a nature name or a color name rather than a mispronounced foreign name, to me anyway.
Having said that, I don’t really love [name]Fuchsia[/name]. I do love [name]Coralie[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name], though. I think that [name]Coralie[/name] [name]Fuchsia[/name] would be amazing with [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Teagan[/name].
Yes, Sting’s daughter was born in 1982 and named Fuschia [name]Catherine[/name], but she goes by [name]Kate[/name].
I really do like [name]Fuchsia[/name]
Not loving [name]Fuchsia[/name] as a first name, but [name]Coralie[/name] [name]Fuchsia[/name] would be great with [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Teagan[/name].
Maybe [name]Freesia[/name] (free zhya) instead? It doesn’t look like it has ‘f***’ right up front.
