UPDATED (PAGE 4) Humor Me, Again?

UPDATED! SEE [name]PAGE[/name] 4…

So, I have chosen [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] as [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]'s replacement, and I am very happy with this decision. [name]Charlotte[/name] has been a favorite of mine since childhood, and I think I am falling back in love with her. But, [name]Beatrix[/name] is a new name I’ve fallen for, and I’d be interested to hear your opinions on that one, should you wish to contribute.

I know I promised that I’d hold back on threads for awhile, but I just got the itch to post! We all know that I love to think about names for my future children…

It has recently come to my attention that my runner-up girls’ name, [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], has reverse initials to one of my two favorites, [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Maria[/name]. Being the maniac that I am, I’m beyond irked by this. I’ve also realized that [name]Margaret[/name] isn’t really my thing - [name]Maggie[/name] is. Why waste [name]Margaret[/name] if I’d probably never use it in full? So, I was hoping that you lovely Berries might be able to find a new first name option for [name]Eliza[/name]!

  1. Must work well with [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Maria[/name], [name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name], and [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]James[/name] (& [name]William[/name] [name]Boyd[/name], for kicks).
  2. Cannot end in either -a or -line.
  3. Should be a vintage, classic girls’ name with feminine charm like [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name].

Something like [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] would be perfect, firstly because it sounds cute and secondly because it inadvertently honors my mom’s family. But, I’m not sure [name]Josephine[/name]'s for me, and it seems to lack the feminine charm and whimsy of [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name].

So, if you care to humor me with your suggestions, please do!

[name]Lemon[/name]

I love your names!

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]- not sure about the flow
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]- ends in -y like [name]Henry[/name], if that bothers you
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]- ditto

The dedicated fine-tuning of your future children’s names is charming.

BTW, I have to say that I think it is perfect that you are going into neuropsychology. My second son (who has autism) just had an assessment by a neuropsychologist who wrote an exeptionally long (61-page!) report. Seeing the very detailed analyses you are capable of doing on names and the caliber of your posts, it seems to me that you were born for analyzing, organizing details, and reporting your findings and recommendations in a clear and articulate way. I have no doubt that you will be an asset to the profession and your future clients.

On to your name dilemma. Tough stipulations! Is number of syllables a stipulation too? [name]Do[/name] you want to steer clear of three-syllables (since [name]Eliza[/name] is three) or does it just depend on the specific names?

Sparkle power and charm are subjective, so I’ll just put these out there for your consideration.

[name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]*
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Frances[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Gwenyth[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Irene[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] (thinking of your Grandma)
[name]Jessamine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]*
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] (oh, but not if you use [name]Julian[/name])
[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Simone[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]

I really like [name]Josephine[/name] with your other kids’ names! Also, [name]Cecily[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Genevieve[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name]!

[name]Florence[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Agnes[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Constance[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Simone[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Jocelyn[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Rosette[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Bernadette[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Rhiannon[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Clarice[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]

My name is actually [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]!! hahah

[name]Eliza[/name] was my great-grandmother’s name. [name]Margaret[/name] was my grandmother’s name, but also means pearl and I was born in [name]June[/name]!

So needless to say, I’m a fan of the pair and no one would notice the [name]EM[/name] and ME other than you. If you love the pairing, don’t let that stop you!

As for a first name for [name]Eliza[/name]…

> [name]Gwyneth[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
> [name]Greer[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
> [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
> [name]Henrietta[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]

Good [name]Luck[/name]!!

I would love to help but all the names I would have suggested have already been suggested! I suppose I’ll agree with some comments on the already suggested names.

[name]Beatrix[/name] - I thought this was perfect as I know you quite like it! (Unless that has changed - has it?) I think someone also suggested [name]Beatrice[/name] which is another cute alternative. The names just have such a whimsical but feminine but vintage charm! [name]How[/name] do you resist?

[name]Gwendolyn[/name] - I thought of this imediately as recently I have begun to like it! It doesn’t have as much of the vintage charm, but certainly a feminine one!

I’m not sure if the following have been suggested but I’ll give it a try.

[name]Charlotte[/name] - Despite it’s recent popularity, it is so cute! And the nickname [name]Lottie[/name] is very vintage!

[name]Matilda[/name] - Though I fear it lacks as much feminine charm and may be a bit stuffy, it’s very cute! Vintage too! Also, it has many nickname possibilties such as [name]Mattie[/name], [name]Tilly[/name] or [name]Milly[/name]!

[name]Elizabeth[/name] - It doesn’t seem as vintage I guess because it is such a classic, but it truly is!

I would have suggested a personal favourite - [name]Clementine[/name], but it ends with “ine”. Anyways, goo luck and I would love to hear back from you and see what you think!

PS sorry, I just realized [name]Matilda[/name] ends with “a”.

Hmm . . .

[name]Alice[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Delphine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] ([name]Love[/name] this!)
[name]Felicity[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] (Hmm. Doesn’t flow too well.)
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Jacqueline[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] (Doesn’t flow too well, but does have [name]Maggie[/name] for a nickname. I also think this is pronounced [name]MAG[/name]-da-linn, not [name]MAG[/name]-da-leen, but I’m not sure.)
[name]Millicent[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Natalie[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Tamsin[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Yvaine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]

I hope you find something you like!

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Lemon[/name]! Some ideas–

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]*

[name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]*
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]*

I know I am breaking some of the rules, but these are the names that immediately came to my mind with [name]Eliza[/name]!

Oh, I loved [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]! What about (sorry for repeats):

Thanks, [name]Cecily[/name]!

[name]Eliza[/name]! I think I prefer [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] to [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] - beautiful name! But, I just have issues with “matching” initials I suppose. You have a beautiful name, though - love it!

[name]Lemon[/name]

Bounce, thanks!

I love the [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Potter[/name] connection with [name]Beatrix[/name] and the [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Fairfax[/name] connection with [name]Gwendolen[/name] ([name]Gwendolyn[/name])! [name]Charlotte[/name] - [name]Bronte[/name], [name]Lucas[/name], etc. - is wonderful, too!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Christy[/name], great suggestions!

I like [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] so much! I’m usually not an [name]Eleanor[/name] fan - do you like [name]Elinor[/name] better? - but it is such a cute pairing! [name]Jacqueline[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] is pretty, too…

[name]Lemon[/name]

Kyemsma! I do love [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], but I think it is too much with [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Maria[/name] - do you agree?

Like [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] (but [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]!), [name]Jacqueline[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], and [name]Grace[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]! Thanks!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Iris[/name] [name]Rose[/name], sorry you loved [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] - take it! I just realized I don’t love [name]Margaret[/name] - I love [name]Maggie[/name]!

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Anne[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Frances[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], and [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] are my favorites. Thank you!
