I posted a top 15 list a couple of months ago and thought I’d share my updated thoughts and opinions with you all in hopes of receiving different viewpoints on each one.
Here are the new top few contenders in no particular order;
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] (My number one choice no matter what)
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] / [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] (I’ve recently been having mixed feelings about which spelling I like best)
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f]
[name_f]Acadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleonora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] (Pronounced [name_m]Add[/name_m]-a-line, not [name_m]Add[/name_m]-a-lynn)
Meridia
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
Please let me know what you think if you have any input! Thanks in advance
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f]-This is not my personal favorite, but I really don’t have a good reason why. It’s perfectly nice, unique & pretty cool.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]-Ooh, so pretty. I like it a lot, & especially the nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. It’s unique, yet not too complicated. It’s darling on a little girl, yet grows up well.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] / [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] -This is nice. I don’t care for the dated sounding ‘[name_u]Julie[/name_u]’, which may be a hard nn to avoid. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] looks sleeker in my opinion.
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f]-Hm, I don’t love this one. I think it reminds me of [name_m]Avon[/name_m]…
[name_f]Acadia[/name_f]-This is a little confusing.
[name_f]Eleonora[/name_f]-Gorgeous! Feminine & sophisticated. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is on my short list, but this is more unique which is a big plus.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]-This is nice. Not amazing, but totally fine.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]-I don’t care for this for some reason. It reminds me of a cranky old lady for some reason.
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] (Pronounced [name_m]Add[/name_m]-a-line, not [name_m]Add[/name_m]-a-lynn)-Why not [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]? That seems to be the more classic spelling. I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], but every other baby I meet is named ‘[name_m]Add[/name_m]-uh-lynn’ w/various spellings. Therefore, I’m just over ‘[name_m]Ad[/name_m]’ names in general.
Meridia-That’s a bit much in my opinion.
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]-Well, this is my [name_f]Astoria[/name_f]. My absolute favorite perfect girl name.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]-This is good. Pretty. [name_u]Unique[/name_u] yet not complicated.
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] - Beautiful! Dreamy and unique
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] - I agree with @greyblue earthy and magical
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] - This is my #1 name, love it! I’m also debating which spelling I prefer too, I’ve been basing the spelling off which goes better with the middle name.
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] - Very pretty and whimsical
[name_f]Acadia[/name_f] - pretty
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] - beautiful and I love that is has a lot of nickname options
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - I like this one because of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] from beetle juice lol
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - beautiful!
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] - pretty
Meridia - not my favorite
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] - beautiful
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - I’m really loving this one right now so gorgeous
Thank you for the feedback, everyone! I love reading your opinions
@greyblue - my preferred pronunciation of [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is Au-ray-lee-a or even Au-rell-ee-a! Depends on the day, I suppose. Thank you for your detailed response
@michellem - Thank you for your thoughts! I like [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] because it looks neater to me for whatever reason. I also like the [name_u]Blake[/name_u] Lively character in the movie “Age of [name_f]Adaline[/name_f]” and love how the name is spelled and pronounced there. [name_m]Add[/name_m]-a-line just seems to sound more classy to me
@adelina_sophia - when you love a name but then meet a terrible person with said name… it is so infuriating!
@estrella - looking at your comment made me realize how sweet of a sibset [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f], [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] would make! Thanks for your input
@lauren.ley - yes, I agree with you about the spelling of [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]/te! Sometimes the opposite just works better. And Beetlejuice is amazing – I can’t believe I hadn’t even thought of that connection. Feeling pretty dumb right now, lol. Thanks for replying!
