PLEASE if you have a minute help us! My sister just had the most gorgeous 9lb 6oz boy and cannot decide between [name_m]Holden[/name_m] or [name_m]Miles[/name_m]! She is supposed to leave the hospital in the morning but needs the name first! Last name one syllable sounds like Crown. Middle name will be [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Which do you prefer and why?

I think both names are great! I’d personally pick [name_m]Miles[/name_m]. It sounds more like a first name where [name_m]Holden[/name_m] sounds like a family name. Also, I know the last name sounds like Crown but is the last name actually a noun too? [name_m]Holden[/name_m] Crown sounds a little like “Holding a crown”. That may not be an issue if the actual last name isn’t a noun. And I’m a sucker for single syllable first and last names for boys.
Those are two very minor details to not use [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. I really do think both names are great, and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is perfect in the middle.

There is something about [name_m]Holden[/name_m] that I never like. Maybe because I didn’t like the ‘edgy’ character with the same name.

I like [name_m]Holden[/name_m]! Plus it’s not as popular as [name_m]Miles[/name_m] so it will be more distinctive with the surname. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is great too though.
I absolutely love [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] “Crown”. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is a name with a long history. Although it’s become more popular recently, it is a classic name that will never really go out of style. [name_m]Holden[/name_m] is also a nice name but I feel like it is more of a trendy name that has risen very quickly and continues to do so. I know two people in the past week who named their newborns [name_m]Holden[/name_m]! I also like the flow of [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] much better. I would 100% go with [name_m]Miles[/name_m], but they are both good names.

I adore both [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. Both handsome names. I slightly prefer [name_m]Miles[/name_m].
[name_m]Holden[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] Crown sounds super handsome! [name_m]Miles[/name_m] is also a handsome name, and I love it too, but with a single syllable surname I’d use a multi syllable first name. Congrats to you and the new family!

Because the last name is a bit plain, I would choose [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. [name_m]Holden[/name_m] “Crown” is more distinctive and very handsome.
[name_m]Holden[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] for me. I like the literary association which gives it character, plus [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] have the same s-ending which I don’t love.

[name_m]Miles[/name_m] is cool. If want to toss in a third I’d say [name_m]Milo[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Miles[/name_m] better, myself. I prefer the sound of it, and it has better associations for me: [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] versus [name_m]Holden[/name_m] Caulfield 
That said, I have no objections to [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. Does the baby look more like one or the other?
