URGENT NEED OF HELP: Sebastian, Curran, Grant, Kai or Quinn?

I like [name]Grant[/name] as a first name. So simple, but not at all boring. [name]Grant[/name] [name]Curran[/name] maybe? [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] is also pretty cool. I love Q as a middle initial. Congratulations!

Oh boy, that’s a tough close race you’ve set up. I would pass on [name]Kai[/name]. I’m not keen on [name]Quinn[/name] (but it is quirky/cool, and who knows… maybe it would suit him).
I have the same problem (when looking for a boy name for my #2 to be) with popularity and get really hung up on it. Which really makes it hard because it’s impossible to operate outside of trends.
So, I endorse [name]Sebastian[/name] (if you can live with the trend) because it is truly lovely and both you and hubby love it. My second choice is [name]Curran[/name] because it’s so different from what I’ve heard, and I like other people being braver that I would be (!!!) with unique names. But as you say, you’ve known a real [name]Curran[/name] and he obviously wore it well, so it has been tested.
I also (as some folks are saying) can get hung up on how a name sounds with the sibling. But a shame to let that restrict you unless it’s really similar. For eg, I have [name]Arthur[/name], so [name]Archer[/name] is out of the question. But [name]Maren[/name] and [name]Curran[/name] are doable.
I’m neutral on [name]Grant[/name]. Could be good…
Good luck and congratulations! Let us know what you picked!!!

An alternative to [name]Quinn[/name], I hadn’t thought of… Qing! It’s Chinese for blue (like his blue eyes) and pronounced “king.” If you’re open to the Hawaiian [name]Kai[/name], maybe Qing is just the ticket!
I think [name]Grant[/name] Qing would be dashing.

Edit: Oh dear, I think the Chinese pronunciation is actually “ching.” Well… you COULD pronounce it King.

Definitely [name]Sebastian[/name]

I like [name]Quinn[/name] better for a girl.

My vote is definitely for [name]Sebastian[/name]

[name]Sebastian[/name] is so handsome!

Thanks to everyone for your input! It’s such a great help to get feedback like this. You brought up some really important points about the names: whether a name sounded too much like “[name]Maren[/name]” for the sibling; the statistics on the popularity of a name; the trendiness of a name; and whether a name was better suited for girls or boys.

Thanks for reminding me of the fact that [name]Curran[/name] and [name]Maren[/name] sound so much alike. When [name]Maren[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] was born, and then carefully named many days after, I remember thinking that I couldn’t use [name]Curran[/name] in the future if she happened to have a brother down the line. Sounds too much alike… and I needed you to remind me of that. But I still love that name.

As of today, our little boy has finally been named!

We have decided to name him [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Grant[/name]. So happy with it. Thanks everyone!

I don’t see [name]Sebastian[/name] as popular… I doubt he will be one of five Sebastians in his class. [name]Bas[/name] is a cute nickname.

[name]Curran[/name] makes me think of [name]Curry[/name], not my favorite.

[name]Kai[/name] doesn’t seem too popular, in fact it seems like a passing fad to me. I wouldn’t use it. [name]Quinn[/name] seems a bit girly to me.

I love the name [name]Grant[/name], so classic.

[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Grant[/name] sounds amazing.

Yay! Thanks for the update, and glad we could help. [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Grant[/name] is a great choice.

I like [name]Quinn[/name] the best. [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] sounds good too.
I agree that [name]Curran[/name] and [name]Maren[/name] are too close for siblings

Yay! [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Grant[/name] is so dashing and handsome–[name]Maren[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name] are so striking together. Congratulations again, and all the best!

Congratulations on your new baby! [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Grant[/name] is a handsome name.

I like [name]Grant[/name] or [name]Quinn[/name].
