Name was on my list but after DH picked it I’m not sure. Tell me everything you think when you hear [name_m]Dedrick[/name_m]
Sorry, all I’m hearing is ‘Dead [name_m]Rick[/name_m]’/ [name_u]Red[/name_u] dick. Neither of which I’m very fond of!
[name_m]Derick[/name_m] on the other hand I think is very handsome, would that work for you both?
DH favs are [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m], both too popular for me. My favs are [name_m]Orson[/name_m] and [name_m]Oren[/name_m], both too out there for him.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce it dead-rick or Deed-rick?
It looks good on paper, but it sounds very clunky when trying to pronounce it.
It kind of sounds made up to me. Like you couldn’t decide between 2 names and mashed them up together.
I’m afraid the “dead” syllable ruins it for me. Maybe [name_m]Cedric[/name_m]? [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]? [name_m]Roderick[/name_m]?
I don’t like the look or sound of it. What about [name_m]Cedric[/name_m]? There’s also [name_m]Derek[/name_m], [name_m]Marek[/name_m], Narek, [name_m]Alaric[/name_m], [name_m]Alec[/name_m], [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], [name_m]Erik[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m].
I find it hard to pronounce and it also looks slightly made up. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Oren[/name_m], it’s a shame your DH isn’t into it!

[name_m]Orson[/name_m] and [name_m]Oren[/name_m] remind me of [name_u]Ren[/name_u], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_m]Eben[/name_m], [name_m]Ben[/name_m]/[name_m]Ken[/name_m] (maybe as a nickname for something unusual so your partner would get a popular nickname with a sound you like and you an uncommon full name), [name_u]Lennon[/name_u]/[name_u]Lennox[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_m]Olson[/name_m], [name_u]Ori[/name_u], [name_u]Kieran[/name_u], [name_m]Soren[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] was already a consideration but probably a middle name. DH won’t move it to the front bc doesn’t like nickname [name_m]Fred[/name_m], [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]. I’m not really a nickname person so i would insist on [name_m]Frederick[/name_m].
This baby number 3. [name_u]Love[/name_u] love our first two littles names, so much pressure to get it right again. DH came home and agreed [name_m]Dedrick[/name_m] isn’t it but we are no closer to a name, only closer to meeting our DS.
Like to avoid initials: A, C, E, I, J, K, L, and M.
Last name one syllable, think superman’s first name, so first name needs to be 2 or more syllables. I’d like to avoid at least a top 200 name (US) but that’s just a random number. I like unusual but recognizable. Masculine only, no gender neutral. Help!

I like [name_m]Dedrick[/name_m]. I like the Deidric or [name_m]Dietrich[/name_m] spelling better, but [name_m]Dedrick[/name_m] might be more intuitive for other to pronounce when they see it? Only issue I could see is someone trying to say it like [name_m]Cedric[/name_m].

I agree with the above suggestion, [name_m]Dietrich[/name_m]. In English it can be pronounced [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-Trick, and I think nn Trick is just the cutest. I am pretty sure there could be less clunky ways of spelling it (it’s a [name_m]German[/name_m]/Dutch name) such as Detrik, Deitric etc.
