[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] is a name that I love and have for years. I’ve recently added it back to my list for potential use but I’m having trouble finding a combo for it that I’m satisfied with. It was my girl’s name when I was expecting a few years ago but my tastes have changed quite a bit since then and the combo I had ([name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]) no longer appeals.
I’m finding that many names—particularly classics—seem rather severe with it and I want to brighten it up.
[name_m]How[/name_m] would you combo [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] to create a bright, cheery name? [name_f]Do[/name_f] any combos from my list below stand out?
I love [name_f]Ursula[/name_f], and I’ve been considering adding it to my list as [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f].
Your [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Undine[/name_f] is gorgeous! I’m a huge fan of alliterative names, and [name_f]Undine[/name_f] is another one that I love. I also love [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f], [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], and @estrela’s suggestion of [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f].
You’ve suggested some great combos. I like quite a few of them but these are my favorites: [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] Dandelion (though I have a dog named Dandelion), [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], and [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u].
Thank you!
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] is a beautiful combo! I’m glad to see someone else interested in the name.
I like a lot of combos from your list, but the ones that stand out to me as the most bright and cheery are [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f], [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].
I think this is a hard name to fit a middle name with as there are so many sounds, to me anything that starts with an L for a middle name doesn’t work that well. I think something short, possibly one syllable would be nice, such as [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]!
I would say I don’t like day names, but there’s something wonderful about [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f], I really like it. I also like [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Tulip[/name_f] from your list.
These stand out:
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] - tansy are such sweet little flowers, unfortunately I have a cousin whose middle name is [name_f]Tansy[/name_f].
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] - very sweet!
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Peony[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Joni[/name_f] / [name_f]Joanie[/name_f] - [name_u]Jo[/name_u]- names honor for me so I love this suggestion
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] - this combo immediately brings to mind [name_f]Kiki[/name_f]'s Delivery Service. I’m a fan of Hayao Miyazaki’s work.
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - it’s cute; on Friends [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]'s twin sister is [name_f]Ursula[/name_f].
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] - makes me think of [name_f]Bee[/name_f], which I use as an honoring name for my brandfather, a beekeeper.
Thank you!
I don’t get much of a lisp with [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] but it’s a bit more old fashioned than I’m going for with [name_f]Ursula[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] though!
I enjoy:
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Tulip[/name_f], of course.
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] - I always forget [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] as a name!
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] Mabli - Mabli is a bit more usable than just [name_f]Mab[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] - I had this on my list briefly but it’s a bit too Disney
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Reverie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is sweet! [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is a bit more proper than I was aiming for but it has a great sound and flows well.
Thanks!
I don’t usually go for day names myself but I quite enjoy [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] with [name_f]Ursula[/name_f]. I’m glad you like a few of my other combos as well.
I’m terrible with combos. I clicked in this because [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] is one of favorites! I usually don’t love [name_u]Sky[/name_u] as a middle but I do in this case. [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] is also fabulous.
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_m]Cove[/name_m]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Ouida[/name_f] ([name_f]Ouida[/name_f] is an honor name for me, but maybe to witchy for most)
[name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f]
So many lovely combos. Please please please use [name_f]Ursula[/name_f]
I’m glad to hear you like [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u] and [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]!
I enjoy your suggestion of [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]. [name_f]Ouida[/name_f] is such an interesting name and I do find it to be a bit too witchy with [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] but nice on it’s own.
From your combos, I like [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I think they make the name cheery! [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is also sweet but not sure if the S sound is too much in this? The S sounds in [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] don’t sound the same as the S sound in [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] so those work, but it is identical in [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. Not sure how much sense that made! [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is also a nice suggestion by PP.
Would avoid unusual middle names like [name_f]Undine[/name_f] and [name_f]Moon[/name_f] to avoid weirdo/eccentric aristocrat vibes. [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] will be hard enough to pull off.
I can see what you mean about [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] compared to [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I didn’t really notice an issues but I get what you mean!
Thanks!
That is a valid concern! I love [name_f]Undine[/name_f] and [name_f]Ondine[/name_f] but with [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] is may be a bit too much. Thank you for pointing it out!
