As a history nerd, I have grown to really like names with subtle (Or even obvious sometimes) history connections! Can you think of any girl names that are somehow connected to history or, more specifically, US presidents?

I know of (through friend of a friend) two girls named [name]Nixon[/name], except one is spelled Nyxxann and one is spelled Nixxon. I have no idea why their parents felt the extra x was necessary, but I also don’t think [name]Nixon[/name] is the president I’d want to use as a namesake for my kid.

I know a couple who wanted to name their daughter [name]Reagan[/name], but didn’t want the presidential association so they said they changed the spelling. They named her [name]Reagan[/name]…I guess googling how to spell the name was too much effort?

Well, I’ve always thought the first ladies’ names were pretty - [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Martha[/name], [name]Letitia[/name], [name]Edith[/name], [name]Ida[/name], etc.

I hate misspelled names. If you name your kid [name]Nixon[/name] or [name]Reagan[/name], expect the political references and respect previous leaders of this nation by spelling the name correctly!!
