For sentimental reasons, I want to honor my parents in naming my first child… and yet, I just can’t imagine giving my child their actual names (even in the middle). After reading [name]Nephele[/name]‘s anagram thread and falling in love with one she discovered for my daughter-to-be-- the anagram is [name]Vienna[/name] Wildrose-- I wondered if maybe an anagram of my parents’ names is the way to go for a middle name. What do you think? It may not be as much of an honor if you’re not using the actual name (or even a variant thereof), but to know that you and your spouse’s names were mixed carefully to come up with a name to bestow upon your granddaughter… that’s kind of neat, no?
And if you think it’s a good idea, and [name]Nephele[/name] would be willing, I’d love to hear what you could come up with, as far as a middle name, using the names [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Karen[/name]. The baby’s name is to be [name]Evelina[/name] _____ [name]Windsor[/name], my little [name]Vienna[/name] Wildrose. =)
I am not nephele, but I think [name]Larkin[/name] wouldbe a pretty mn. It uses the k, r, and n from your mom’s name and the i, a, and l from your dad’s name. [name]Just[/name] a thought.
[name]Evelina[/name] [name]Larkin[/name] [name]Windsor[/name]
I think an anagram would be a wonderful, novel way to honour your parents
[name]Evelina[/name] is beautiful!
Some other ideas to honour your parents :
[name]Angelica[/name] (angel-related, like [name]Michael[/name])
[name]Evangeline[/name]/a (angel-related)
[name]Gabriella[/name] ([name]Gabriel[/name] was an archangel, like [name]Michael[/name])
Hecate (a Titan, the origin of the name [name]Katherine[/name])
[name]Kate[/name] (another nn for [name]Katherine[/name])
[name]Katherine[/name] ([name]Karen[/name] is a short form of [name]Katherine[/name])
[name]Rafaella[/name] ([name]Raphael[/name] was another archangel)
[name]Seraphine[/name]/a (angel-related).
I’m always in favor of using anagrams. It’s very Kabbalah.
And I really liked Unicorngal’s suggestion of [name]Larkin[/name]!
Twinkle’s use of name meanings as another idea was great, too!
Because [name]Evalina[/name] has a lovely 3-syllable first name, I would suggest keeping her middle name fairly short. And to meld together both names of [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Karen[/name], yet still preserve a recognizable portion of their names, I think I would simply take the first two letters from each of their names for the resulting middle names of “[name]Mika[/name]” or “[name]Kami[/name]”:
i agree with keeping middle name short…or even have two middle names, one from your dad’s name and the toher from your mums.
So [name]Evalina[/name] [name]Mia[/name] [name]Aren[/name] [name]Windsor[/name]
We named my little girl [name]Matilda[/name] because my brother who passed away was called [name]Adam[/name], so [name]Matilda[/name] includes the name [name]Adam[/name]
Well, I’m not [name]Nephele[/name] but I think that
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Karen[/name]
[name]Maren[/name]
[name]Michele[/name]
Karelea
Reni
Kaichen
Laena
Meren
[name]Mika[/name]
[name]Kami[/name]
are all nice. I like [name]Evelina[/name] [name]Maren[/name] [name]Windsor[/name] or [name]Evelina[/name] [name]Michele[/name] [name]Windsor[/name]. Or even [name]Evelina[/name] [name]Kami[/name] [name]Windsor[/name].
