Using favourite musicians as Middle names

Hey guys!

Newbie here, I’m a big fan of names so am thinking ahead (not currently expecting!)

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to get your opinions on some names I love for hypothetical future kids - you’ll notice I tend to veer towards more creative names for girls and quite traditional ones for boys, not sure why that is.

Also I want to see what you guys think - I’m a big music & poetry fan and have always wanted to give my kids middle names relating to my favourite poets & musicians. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this is self-indulgent?

I’m Irish by the way ([name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]) so you’ll probably notice the influence here.

Here are my ideas for names, just wanna see what you guys think. I really want to give these names, I think they’re quite cool names but just want to get your opinions and make sure they stand on their own (not just as tribute MNs) and go well with the first names.

[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] Marling (after [name_f]Laura[/name_f] Marling)
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_u]Bird[/name_u] (after [name_u]Wallis[/name_u] [name_u]Bird[/name_u])
[name_f]Este[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (found the name [name_f]Este[/name_f] through the band [name_m]Haim[/name_m], think it’s gorgeous)
[name_f]April[/name_f] [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] (No musical influence here, my mum is [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]. I’ll use [name_f]April[/name_f] if she’s born in [name_f]April[/name_f]!)
[name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] Chapman (after [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] Chapman)
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Arie[/name_u] (after [name_f]India[/name_f] [name_u]Arie[/name_u] - love the sound of [name_u]Arie[/name_u])
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_m]Lennon[/name_m] (for [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Lennon[/name_m])

[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Morrissey[/name_m] (after [name_m]Morrissey[/name_m] from The Smiths)
[name_u]Alex[/name_u] [name_m]Buckley[/name_m] (for [name_m]Jeff[/name_m] [name_m]Buckley[/name_m])
[name_m]Sean[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] (MJ)
[name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] (for [name_u]Van[/name_u] [name_m]Morrison[/name_m] and [name_u]Ray[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m])
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Lennon[/name_m] (for [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Lennon[/name_m]) - if I haven’t already used the MN with [name_f]Thea[/name_f] :stuck_out_tongue:

Great choices. You could also go w/[name_f]Avril[/name_f] [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] if you’re a fan of [name_f]Avril[/name_f] LaVigne (or [name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_f]April[/name_f]).

These are all very nice. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_m]Lennon[/name_m] and [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] Marling are probably my favorite picks. [name_f]One[/name_f] of your boy combinations includes my last name, so I was very surprised to see that!

Thanks guys! I was wondering if they were too out there but initial positive response is good!

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_u]Bird[/name_u] is so cute! I also love [name_f]Este[/name_f] and [name_u]Arie[/name_u]. And [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]. [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] I’d prefer as [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] think it’s so much prettier, no matter how you say it. (I like the CAH-shuh prn.)

For the boys, I think [name_m]Morrissey[/name_m], [name_m]Buckley[/name_m], [name_u]Ray[/name_u] all work well as middles. [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is fine but I might do [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] nn [name_u]Van[/name_u] instead.
