Using Mira to honor both Marie and Myra?

My mothers middle name is [name]Marie[/name], [name]MIL[/name]'s name is [name]Myra[/name]. I don’t particularly like either of these names, but DH and I would like to honor them both when naming a (future) daughter. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Mira[/name] would be a viable way to honor both [name]Myra[/name] and [name]Marie[/name]? What do you think of:

[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Mira[/name]
[name]Celeste[/name] [name]Mira[/name]

[name]Do[/name] you have any other suggestions?

Ya, that would work. You could prob also use [name]Mara[/name]. I like [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Mira[/name] nn [name]Nora[/name]. :).

Thanks. I have thought about [name]Mara[/name], but that is very close to the name of someone who used to be my friend but we had a bad falling-out.

[name]How[/name] do you pn it? For me it’s OK if you pn like meerah, but find [name]Mayra[/name] or Meereh or Mayreh ugly.

It is pronounced like Meer-uh. An alternate spelling is [name]Meara[/name].

It’s nice.

I adore [name]Mira[/name]. Would love to see [name]Mira[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name].

I like this way of honoring! I myself am considering/planning on using [name]Caroline[/name] as a middle name to honor [name]Carol[/name] and [name]Karen[/name].

Liking both [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Mira[/name] and [name]Celeste[/name] [name]Mira[/name]!

I don’t really see the connection besides [name]Mira[/name] sounds/looks like [name]Myra[/name] and [name]Marie[/name] also has a “mar” sound, how are you pronouncing it? “my ra” or “mee ra” like the Spanish word mira?

thetxbelle: I posted previously: It is pronounced like Meer-uh. An alternate spelling is [name]Meara[/name].

[name]Do[/name] you have any ideas? I am kind of just trying to play around with different names that might, in some way, honor both [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Myra[/name] and so I’m kind of trying out of the box ideas.

Sorry I didn’t see the prn, I’m trying to think of good mn but all I can think of is “aye mira” which is something I hear a lot

Maybe

[name]Mira[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Mira[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Mira[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Mira[/name] [name]Francis[/name]
[name]Mira[/name] [name]Colette[/name]

I think [name]Mirabelle[/name] is a nice option if you’re open to it

I love [name]Celeste[/name] [name]Mira[/name]!

I love [name]Celeste[/name] [name]Mira[/name]! Or how about using [name]Maria[/name]? [name]Maria[/name] combines both [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Myra[/name] nicely.

I like [name]Mira[/name] - generally and as an honorific. I also think [name]Mary[/name] would work - letters of [name]Myra[/name], form of [name]Marie[/name].

Of your two I prefer [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Mira[/name]. I can also see nickname [name]Em[/name] because of the initials.

Good luck!
