I’m trying to start fresh and revamp my name list. I started at the end, and have already posted about my Z choices. So here are UVWX and Y.
I found absolutely no U or Y names I liked. If pressed, I do think [name]Yasmin[/name]/[name]Yasmina[/name] is kinda pretty, but that’s it.
For X:
[name]Xanthe[/name] and [name]Xanthia[/name] : I really like them, but wonder if they would work at all on a real person. I lobbied for [name]Xanthe[/name] for my mom’s [name]Golden[/name] Retriever when it was a puppy, but no one liked it.
Xyla / Xylah : I know it’s too close to xylophone, but I still think it’s pretty.
For W:
[name]Winona[/name] : Another that I would never use for real, but I just love it. So sweet and simple and pretty.
[name]Wren[/name] : I just adore this!! I also think [name]Wrenn[/name] and Wrenna have possibilities, but in the end I’d stick with the simple [name]Wren[/name].
For V:
[name]Veda[/name] (or should I try for Veyda/Vayda?) : A new love I’ve never even considered, but it’s so cool!!
[name]Virginia[/name] : [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Vivica[/name] / [name]Vivika[/name] : I kinda like both spellings and kinda don’t like either, but I love the name.
[name]Yasmina[/name] (I absolutely love this, although, I think you’re right, I probably wouldn’t use it, either…)
There’s also names like [name]Yvette[/name], [name]Ysabel[/name], [name]Yulia[/name], etc., but I like [name]Evette[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Julia[/name], etc., more…
I love [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Veda[/name] from your list. [name]Both[/name] sound pretty and fresh, without sounding too “try hard”. Especially [name]Veda[/name]. I really like that! My favourite V names are [name]Vera[/name] and [name]Verity[/name], and for W, I love [name]Willa[/name], and like [name]Waverly[/name] and [name]Winnie[/name]/[name]Wynn[/name].
[name]Yara[/name]
[name]Yardley[/name] (I actually prefer this on a boy, but it’s considered unisex)
[name]Yolande[/name]
[name]Yvaine[/name]
[name]Yvette[/name]
[name]Yvonne[/name]
I think Y is a pretty cool initial, personally, I guess - most Y names seem to have a little touch of the exotic.
My gdaughter is named [name]Xanthe[/name], she has blonde hair and cheeky blue eyes and is the daintiest little girl with enough spirit to overcome anything. It is the easiest name to say, please keep it for your baby and not for the dog.
rollo (or anyone who knows!) - I’m never quite sure how to pronounce [name]Xanthe[/name]. If it’s pronounced the way I think it is, then I really like it! But I’d love to know for sure. Could someone fill me in?
