[name]Valentine[/name] has been on my mind for a really long time now… What do you think?
I think it is usable for a boy. But I have yet to see it being used by one (I’ve met a [name]Valentino[/name] though). I think it is overlooked because of the [name]Valentine[/name]'s day connection. People think of it as feminine because it’s associated with love, romance, etc. So people probably don’t think of it as a boy’s name but I never think of it as feminine. It is a very handsome name meaning strong. I would consider it for my son myself but my bf won’t get on board because of [name]Valentine[/name]'s [name]Day[/name].

Valentine is feminine IME but maybe it’s masculine in English? I know it as the French feminization of Valentin so I would say no but Valentin is great and very usable for boys.

I think [name]Vale[/name] is a good nickname.
I prefer [name]Valentino[/name] for a boy and [name]Valentina[/name] for a girl. I find [name]Valentine[/name] and [name]Valentin[/name] too associated with [name]Valentine[/name]'s [name]Day[/name], sorry.

I’ve only ever heard it used in [name]France[/name] and would probably automatically say it val-en-TEEN. It’s a girls name there, however. [name]Valentin[/name] is the masculine French form, but it would be difficult for English-speakers to pronounce.
I prefer [name]Valentino[/name] to [name]Valentine[/name] (pronounced val-en-TIEN). It seems more masculine and less associated with the holiday. Plus I like the nickname [name]Tino[/name]!
I would definitely assume it was a girl if I read it on paper. Sorry
