I love the idea of [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] but with the “tine” not “teen” pronunciation. There is a female [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] “Valley” on my family tree and I’ve always thought that was beautiful. [name_f]My[/name_f] son was due around Valentine’s day and we almost made that his middle name. I do wonder if the holiday would make the name hard to wear though…
I don’t like [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] very much.
I don’t celebrate Valentine’s [name_u]Day[/name_u], so no gifts.
I’m torn about it, with my feelings learning mostly negative. I don’t think there is anything wrong with taking one day out of the year to put extra special attention to love or your relationship. We do it with birthdays and anniversaries, so I’m not going to act like it is invalid to do here. I just dislike the pressure and the social media showy aspect of it. I dislike how it feels like everyone from a restaurant to your local supermarket tries to sell you something.
Valentine (boy) nice, sounds European.
Valentine (girl) a little masculine to me but could be nice too.
Valentina, love it, the only one I have met in real life and such cute nicknames like Val!
1.I don’t celebrate it but the Valentine rubber ducks are great!
2. I think it’s cute but can easily become over the top & meaningless.
I used to want to name a daughter [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], so I’m in favor! I like it for a boy, too, both with the “Tine” sound. [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] is a bit over the top in a good way, just too much for me personally.
I am a very single person so no gifts for me, but I think it’s nice that there’s a day to celebrate love. It’s my mom’s favorite holiday, which is why I like the name!
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (b) - LOVE!!! I adore valentine on a boy
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (g) - valentine feels masculine to me. It’s fine on a girl but doesn’t have the same oomph
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]! It’s very feminine and sweet. It reminds me of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
I got some chocolate which was nice!
I don’t feel very strongly about it. It’s nice but it doesn’t affect me very much
For a boy it feels Victorian, poetic, dramatic, dark academia.
For a girl it feels [name_u]French[/name_u], modern, cool and spunky
I like it for any gender btw
I like [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], i think i prefer it for a boy, but i still like it for a girl. I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], but i did know a lovely little girl with this name years ago. I like [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] too. I’ve never celebrated Valentines day.
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (b): love. I think, in the US at least, it probably works best in the middle but its on my GP list as a first.
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (g): like, love as a middle. The one I know is a guy so that kind throws me off a bit trying to imagine it on a girl.
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f]: love. I’m surprised its so high on the US charts because I’ve never met one but its such a beautiful name. Princessy but still strong.
I love the nn [name_u]Val[/name_u] for all of the above, it gives me bad*ss vibes and I’m super here for it.
Ferrero Rocher chocolates from my mom but I technically got those the other day.
Yeah. Its not my favorite holiday but I generally enjoy the celebratory atmosphere around most holidays especially if there’s nonstalgic childhood memories attatched like the Valentine’s crafts and classroom parties we used to have in elementary school. And the excuse for chocolate/fancy food is also a plus.
