I think it should make a comeback! To me, [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] feels vintage-y, but I still really like it.

It could make a comeback at some point - a good mix of sharp and soft sounds with several nickname choices

I think it likely will come back, as the [name_m]Boomer[/name_m] & [name_f]Gen[/name_f] X names start to re-emerge. I don’t love it, but it’s definitely a solid, super fem name - great for all ages, and has some maturity & substance to it.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] out of curiosity, what puts it lower on the list for you? I love hearing opinions on names!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] haven’t ever warmed to the sounds it makes, I don’t like “Van” and I don’t like “Ness” and I think the two sounds are too different to each other. No nicknames that I like. But I see it on a sophisticated, international woman and like it on people when they have it.

I love [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]! Its not quite my usual style so it doesn’t often crack my personal top 20 but it is for sure in my top 50 and I love it for other people. Its so pretty and I feel like its timeless, uncommon but familiar and I don’t really associate with a particular decade so I think it would be a great pick for a baby now. The V is such an elegant, sharp, pretty sould.

I LOVE [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], it’s an honor for my grandmother (her favorite animals are butterflies and [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] is the name of a type of Butterfly), so I really hope it makes [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]. I’ve never met a [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] before.

I love it! It was one of the first names I ever came across and loved when I was little

I’ve only ever met one [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] in real life and she is a very sweet person too!

Nothing but positive feelings and associations with this name!! :slight_smile:

I think it’s a more stretchy nickname, but I don’t see why not! Vee could also work.
