Hello everyone and thanks in advance for your assistance!
I am [name_u]French[/name_u] and in love with the name [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]…
I have seen many posts about how to pronounce it in [name_f]English[/name_f] (you-LAY-lee, or you-LAH-lee) but my issue is actually with the first syllable. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband dismisses the name every time I mention it because he doesn’t want to name his daughter with a name that starts with “Eww” In [name_u]French[/name_u], I pronounce it Uh-lah-lee but I realize it’s very unnatural for [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers.
Anyway, could you think of any way to change the spelling/pronunciation of that first syllable? I’m open to anything right now…
We had kind of the same issue with my first daughter’s name and were able to find a variant that worked for both of us. It’s still pronounced slightly differently in both languages but it works so I am hoping to find a way again with [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f].
Thank you
