Several people on my husbands side of the family have been trying to persuade us to give a family name for DD#2’s middle name - first name is [name]Waverly[/name], last name has 4 syllables.
The two names they are pushing are [name]Elizabeth[/name] (which I like but don’t love, plus it’s a big long for the first and last names it would be paired with) and [name]Kay[/name] (which I just don’t like). Hubby doesn’t particularly care for either and isn’t concerned about passing any names on. I do love my husbands family and if we could find something that is similar to one of these names that we love I would be happy to give our daughter a name that still honors their side of the family.
I would love to hear your suggestions for variants of these two names. Please keep in mind, we do not like [name]Kate[/name], [name]Katherine[/name], or any close variant (which I know basically eliminates most options related to [name]Kay[/name]). I really like [name]Elise[/name] but hubby rejected it.
This might take some creative thinking, which is why I’m coming to you wonder name people!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
I like [name]Elizabeth[/name], but I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]. That ‘s’ makes all the difference to me!

Maybe you’d find something in that list that works for you.
The reason I love [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name] is it’s classic beauty AND the fact that is has so many fabulous nicknames ([name]Eliza[/name], [name]Betsey[/name], [name]Lily[/name], Lissy, [name]Betty[/name], [name]Bess[/name] etc…).
[name]Kay[/name] is also lovely…it flows well with [name]Elizabeth[/name]. However, if you don’t like it, don’t use it! Especially if you are already compromising by using [name]Elizabeth[/name].
Here are the few [name]Kay[/name] variations that weren’t already mentioned:
[name]Kyla[/name]
[name]Kayley[/name]
[name]Kasey[/name]
[name]Kaytlin[/name]
[name]Kaylin[/name]
Or maybe more of a stretch with: [name]May[/name], [name]Fay[/name], [name]Bay[/name], [name]Rae[/name]…
