I’m trying to find a middle name for [name]Elaina[/name] (as I’ve mentioned in my other thread), and one idea that I love is to honor my Grandmother, whose name is [name]Lorna[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. I absolutely adore her and would lovelovelove to honor her in some way. Problem is, I really don’t like the name [name]Lorna[/name] (nor does it flow well with [name]Elaina[/name]) and [name]Jane[/name], though I like it, is too choppy with our one-syllable surname and too rhymey with [name]Elaina[/name] ([name]Elaina[/name] [name]Jane[/name]? Nah.)
So, any ideas or variations on [name]Lorna[/name] and/or [name]Jane[/name] that I might use? Any other ideas of ways that I could honor her?
I see how [name]Elaina[/name] could honor a [name]Lorna[/name] [name]Jane[/name] actually… the [name]EL[/name]=L and ain, [name]Jane[/name]…it sounds so arbitrary when I describe it but it makes sense in my head.
Is there something else you associate with your grandmother? A favorite place, a birthstone, color, etc…? Sometimes those work out better and have more meaning than just saying [name]Lorna[/name]…[name]Laurel[/name], [name]Laura[/name], [name]Lora[/name]. Although [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Lora[/name] works pretty nicely.
I see how [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is too rhymey for your taste. I actually really love the name [name]Lorna[/name], but only after hearing the song [name]Judy[/name] [name]Garland[/name] had written for her daughter. (Look up “A Song for [name]Lorna[/name]” if you havent heard it, it’s really sweet).
