Variations of names

Pick one girl name and one boy name you love and write down why you are attracted to their variations or why you think the original is the best.

For me:

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]: [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], [name_f]Lilith[/name_f], [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Lilou[/name_f] - out of all of these [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is the one I like the best, though all of them have their own perks.

[name_m]John[/name_m]: [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], [name_m]Ian[/name_m], [name_m]Johan[/name_m], [name_m]Jonas[/name_m], [name_m]Jonathon[/name_m] - I prefer [name_m]Ian[/name_m] and [name_m]John[/name_m]. Though the longer names are great, the shorter names speak a little more to me. After choosing [name_m]Eli[/name_m] for my son, I found that other three letter boys names have been hard to come by since we where thinking of using a 3 letter name for another child that has the same type of feeling.

[name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_m]Augusten[/name_m], [name_m]Augustin[/name_m], [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], [name_u]Gus[/name_u], [name_u]Auguste[/name_u], [name_m]Agustin[/name_m]- I really love all of these variations and I swap around on which one I like best, at the moment it is [name_u]August[/name_u]. I adore the nickname [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and think all of the variations have a sophisticated, distinguished air without being too heavy or pretentious

[name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Roisin[/name_f]- I love how feminine these manage to be without being frilly or trendy, they sound very fresh and elegant to me and they are truly timeless
