I’ve been thinking about this name for a while lately, and slowly getting over my first association with it (a horrible character in a video game). It seems very noble.

I like this name.
Actually I think of [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] from Alias ([name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] [name_m]Garner[/name_m]'s handler). I always loved this name since then.
No bad associations for me, I think it is very usable and I prefer this spelling to [name_m]Von[/name_m]
This was my pastor’s surname growing up, and it has special significance to me for that reason…he is such a humble, generous man with a thirst for learning, and he and his family have been through some intense personal tragedies that have only made them sweeter people when they could have easily become bitter. I have nothing but positive associations with this name
I like [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]. It’s a name I have not gave much thought to previously, but my initial thought was that it was very handsome.
[name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] is nice but I personally wouldn’t use it because I don’t care for the association with [name_m]Vince[/name_m] [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] (not that it’s bad, I just picture people always saying “like [name_m]Vince[/name_m]?”).
While I personally wouldn’t use it because it’s not my style,
I can appreciate it as a strong, handsome name.
I love [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]. I think it has a lovely sound and looks great too! My first thought was Alias not [name_m]Vince[/name_m] although neither are negative associations for me:-)
I find it hard to picture on a kid.
Very…bounty hunter, serious.
I also sort of connect it to [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f], since I’ve never met a [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m], but I’ve met several [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]'s.
On it’s own, it almost feels like it’s missing something…like [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]…Trap.
[name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] Kleist. etc.
I like [name_m]Vance[/name_m] though.
I like it! Underused but masculine & rooted
Always loved it. It is my father in law’s name, but I can’t use it. My mother in law divorced him and he is deceased. I never met him.
I love one syllable names for boys and girls. They have a cool vibe to them.
It’s not my style, but I think it’s handsome. I know a few boys with names like [name_u]Van[/name_u] and [name_m]Vance[/name_m], and [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] feels more sophisticated but just as right on a little boy in 2013.
Thank you for the replies, quite interesting. ;]
I don’t understand the comparison to [name_m]Von[/name_m] as where I’m from [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] & [name_m]Von[/name_m] are pronounced very differently. [name_m]Von[/name_m] is like ‘on’ with a V in front, but [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m] rhymes with yawn & lawn. V-awn. I love this name, I find it very masculine and strong. I recently met my first little [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m], he must have been about 1, very cute & wore the name well.
I really like [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m].
