I really like it. It would definitely be on my list if I ever have another girl. I love the exotic feel of the name.
The music teacher at my school has a daughter called [name]Veda[/name], she’s very sweet. It’s not a name I would use, but it’s really nice and classy. I’d be worried about it rising it popularity though, I’m seeing it on NB a lot recently.
Have you? I am not looking in the right places then…I haven’t seen it yet. I am a sucker for old fashioned - vintage - quirky names and I think this fits the bill. I love the combo’s [name]Veda[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Alma[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name].
Sorry but it gives me a “[name]Vegas[/name]” feel
[name]Veda[/name] is the name we’ve chosen, if this little bean turns out to be a girl! We have a daughter named [name]Willow[/name], and although we’re not all about having a matching sibset, we did think that those names sounded nice together. Obviously, I think it’s a beautiful name, and [name]Veda[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] is actually on our list!
(In My Girl, her name is spelled [name]Vada[/name], fyi)
(I know, thanks!)
Funny you have the same combo on your list!
[name]Veda[/name] (pronounced vay-dah) is gorgeous, exotic and has an air of mystery about it. It means “knowledge” in Sanskrit and and the Vedas are the sacred books of Hinduism. I also like [name]Vida[/name] (vee-dah) and [name]Vita[/name] (vee-tah) but not as much as [name]Veda[/name]. The only issue I can see: if you name your first daughter [name]Veda[/name], many “mainstream” names will sound a tad boring next to it. Something to think about in the future.
