Vela-Kita nn Kit — Too much?

[name_f]Vela[/name_f]-Kita [name_u]Allison[/name_u] “[name_u]Kit[/name_u]”

WDYT?

It’s okay, the flow is just a little off for me, I don’t think two -a names sound right together. I think [name_f]Vela[/name_f]-[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_u]Allison[/name_u] would be lovely though

The double ending in a is throwing me off. I think [name_f]Vela[/name_f]-[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_u]Allison[/name_u] works better.

I think [name_f]Vela[/name_f]-[name_u]Kit[/name_u] might flow better

There’s a lot of A sounds. I’d prefer [name_f]Vela[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u] [name_u]Kit[/name_u].

No, it’s not too much! I disagree that there are too many ‘A’ sounds. [name_f]My[/name_f] Evaluna is comrpised of two ‘A’ names and works - [name_f]Vela[/name_f]-Kita is no different, although I would prefer Velakita.

I do find it ‘too much,’ but not because of the ‘a’ sounds— I think any hyphenated name is “too much” unless the names are quite familiar (in the vein of [name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Paul[/name_m], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f], etc.)

Vela-Kita sounds okay, but it looks rather odd to me. Adding [name_u]Allison[/name_u] trips me up, with the a right after the a. I agree with many of the others—[name_f]Vela[/name_f]-[name_u]Kit[/name_u] [name_u]Allison[/name_u] flows much better.

Yikes [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], I guess we’ll never get along when it comes to naming styles. :joy:

Vela-Kita [name_u]Allison[/name_u] is actually growing on me. I quite like it

A list of things: [name_f]Vela[/name_f] and Kita aren’t well known names, both have the same ending sound and could get mixed up (Kela-[name_f]Vita[/name_f]?), its hyphenated, the ending of Kita runs into the A of [name_u]Allison[/name_u] a bit.

For me it’s too much. Ignoring if I like the name, it’s just a lot for me to wrap my head around. I think if I met someone who introduced themselves as [name_f]Vela[/name_f]-Kita I would have a hard time processing the name because it’s a bunch of uncommon things. I seriously might wonder if I heard Velveeta. However, if they’re going by [name_u]Kit[/name_u] all the time then no problem!

I do agree with @EllieWilbury that hyphenated names work best when the names are familiar.

It’s definitely usable if you love it, but it would be a little much for me. Mainly because I would question how to pronounce both names is [name_f]Vela[/name_f] pronounced like ‘[name_f]Ella[/name_f]’ or ‘Vay-la” or ‘Vee-la’? And is Kita pronounced like ‘Kite-uh’ or ‘[name_u]Kit[/name_u]-uh’ or ‘’[name_f]Keet[/name_f]-uh’?
However I love the nickname [name_u]Kit[/name_u]! And if you really loved the name it could work, you would just have to correct pronunciation a lot.
