please excuse my edit
in my opinion, too similar, he probably likes them both because they both sound similar. After I gave birth to [name]Elena[/name] I found all the other names I liked were very similar… like [name]Selena[/name], [name]Serena[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], etc… it’s hard to work yourself away from that. You COULD have two girls with similar names, it would just be your “thing”, then what if you had a third? Things to consider. That being said, I know a couple with a [name]Hannah[/name] and [name]Leah[/name] as daughters… its ultimately up to you, whether you want to be matchy or not!
Personally i don’t think they sound too similar. The “t” in [name]Greta[/name] breaks up the similar sound. my kids have similar sounding names ([name]Wylie[/name] and [name]Emmie[/name] - nn for [name]Emerald[/name]) and i don’t think there is anything wrong with that. no one has ever made a comment about it. I think we typically drawn to names that sound similar because it’s what we like.
Which way do you say [name]Vera[/name]?
Either way, I think they’re both similar in sound but not too similar. I actually have both on my long list and could see them working really well in a sibset.
