Vera? Nicknames?

Thinking of the name, [name_f]Vera[/name_f], for our little girl who is arriving this [name_u]December[/name_u]. I posted earlier today about another name, and mentioned using it as a middle name ([name_f]Vera[/name_f] was my grandma’s name), but a couple people suggested using it as a first name…I’d never thought of that before. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering what people feel about the name [name_f]Vera[/name_f]? What could some nicknames be? [name_f]TIA[/name_f]!

Vey, pronounced like [name_f]Fey[/name_f]/[name_f]Faye[/name_f].

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] is fabulous, and the family history is even better. She is far too lovely for a nn. I’d settle for the occasional pet name instead.

[name_f]Vera[/name_f], is a great name. Nickname would be [name_m]Ra[/name_m]-ra because it sounds goofy.

Vee!

I love [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. I don’t think it needs a nickname

I like [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. And I would go with V or [name_f]Ver[/name_f] (pronounced like veer) for nicknames.

I guess I’d second Vee if you really must have one. I don’t see why [name_f]Vera[/name_f] would need it, though. It’s short enough, easy to shout down a stairway or across a playground, and packs an admirable amount of personality into two syllables. Why chop it?

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] is great! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it as a first name.

I love the name [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and think some nicknames could be [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], [name_u]Vere[/name_u], V, ect. I know an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with the nickname E, that could work too.
Some middle name suggestions just because:
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_u]Finley[/name_u]
I could go on and on! Great name.

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] is a very pretty name! I like it.
However, I’m not too sure what a nickname for [name_f]Vera[/name_f] could be.

I have a sweet niece named vera and it suits her well. Her older sister started calling her V and it stuck as her nickname

Thanks folks for your help!

I like [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. It is pleasant and refreshing.

I like [name_f]Era[/name_f] and [name_u]Erie[/name_u], but I don’t think [name_f]Vera[/name_f] would need one necessarily.

I agree with Notcinnamon, [name_f]Vera[/name_f] doesn’t need a nickname, a pet name that developes naturally will no doubt occur.
