Verena vs Verona

Which name do you prefer? [name]Verena[/name] or [name]Verona[/name]?

I prefer [name]Verena[/name] as a name. I believe [name]Shakespeare[/name] used [name]Verona[/name] as a place in some of his plays, and while it’s a nice connection, [name]Verena[/name] just feels more like a name to me. Something about [name]Verona[/name] makes me imagine a car… A “Toyota [name]Verona[/name]”, “Honda [name]Verona[/name]”, etc. [name]Verena[/name] is lovely and lilting, with plenty of history. My vote goes to [name]Verena[/name].

Saying both names aloud, I really prefer [name]Verena[/name]. It sounds lovely, and when I say [name]Verona[/name] on the other hand, I feel like it’s an incomplete [name]Veronica[/name]. [name]Verena[/name] sounds complete and just it’s a really pretty name.

[name]Verena[/name] is wonderful, I know a [name]Verena[/name] who loves her name because of a connection with a long-ago [name]Verena[/name] who was known for bravery and kindness as a nurse.

[name]Verena[/name]. But I would think the Two Gentlemen of [name]Verona[/name] connection would be pretty fun to have! I’ve not read the play, but I adore [name]Shakespeare[/name], and it’s something I’d like to read in the future. I adore [name]Serena[/name], though, and I think [name]Verena[/name]'s closeness to it is what draws me to it, though. I would love to meet a little girl with either one of these names, though.

[name]Verena[/name] sounds nicer on the tongue to me.

Definitely [name]Verena[/name]. [name]Verona[/name] actually sounds a bit masculine to me.

[name]Verona[/name]. I love the [name]Shakespeare[/name] connection- TGOV and [name]Romeo[/name] & [name]Juliet[/name]! [name]Verena[/name] is pretty but all I can see is a [name]Williams[/name] sisters smoosh: [name]Venus[/name] + [name]Serena[/name] = [name]Verena[/name].

Thank you for the helpful feedback! [name]Just[/name] checking on how you would pronounce them?
