I just learned tonight that the name [name_u]Vernon[/name_u] has become a generational tradition. My great grandfather and his son, my grandfather have that name. My aunts middle name is [name_u]Verne[/name_u]. So I was thinking…the name [name_u]Vernon[/name_u] for a girl is pretty cool. What’s your opinion. I’d probably use it as a middle. (And while you’re here, vote on my names in the link) thank you!
I really like [name_u]Vernon[/name_u] for a boy, but as a traditional middle name I think it works nicely for a girl, too!
100% an old man. Not at all attractive on a girl.
I love Vernon too, it’s a fam name for me also. I don’t think think I would use it for a girls fn, probably keep it as middle. Or maybe Veronica? You could call her Vernie…
I think it could be tricky for a little girl to get away with as a first, but great as a middle!
Not a fan, partly because my sole association with this name is [name_u]Vernon[/name_u] Dursley.
I think Verne or Laverne is a bit more feminine but still clearly a nod to the family name! Maybe even Vernelle or Vernella!
I love @whiteteaandginger’s suggestion of [name_f]Laverne[/name_f] (maybe nn [name_u]Verne[/name_u]). Not a huge fan of [name_u]Vernon[/name_u] on a girl. Maybe [name_f]Fern[/name_f]?
I think it could be a good middle name. It did remind me of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]’s mean uncle immediately though, so unless that bothers you it’s a great name.
