I recently came across this name while looking for futuristic/cyberpunk names. I’ve heard of [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] many times before but never really noticed it until now and it’s growing on me… fast.
The meaning of [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] is simply “evening star” which is so, so great considering anything to do with space/stars makes me happy.
[name_u]Vesper[/name_u] has special meaning to me. I’ve had [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] on my middle name list for a long time and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] Vesper as a top combo for years. Unsure if I would personally use it as a first name, although I think it definitely works as a first name. It feels so soft and sweet.
I don’t know what it is, but there is something I just don’t like about the name [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] despite hearing it all over the internet. To me, it sounds like a brand or something that you would name your pet. It’s definitely a very spunky name, and maybe I don’t like it because I’m into more girly names.
I love [name_u]Vesper[/name_u]! I’m usually more drawn towards the spunky and frills-free girl names though so it makes sense. I think [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] fits perfectly with current trends while also being very distinct and uncommon.
I like [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] and Vespertine as previous poster mentioned. At first it was hard to see [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] as a name but my sister mentioned she encountered a little girl called [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] and since then I’ve found it easier to picture on a person. Vespertine I didn’t have trouble seeing as a name since it’s like [name_f]Leontine[/name_f] or [name_f]Celestine[/name_f].
I have a harder time with [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], but that is because when I see it, all I think of is church. Vespers are evening prayers, and I don’t particularly like words as names unless they are flora/fauna. I also think whisper when I see [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] and breathing for some reason, so really, it doesn’t hit me right in any way, but that is my personal style, and in our day and age with so many word names abounding, I think it could fit right in.
You know [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] is everything you described. Full of spunk, great meaning…I just don’t like it. I don’t know why but I don’t. Vespertine however is pretty amazing
First heard it in Casino [name_m]Royale[/name_m] and I love it! It’s feels whispery but fierce. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to use it as a first, but I would definitely use it as a middle. I would love to meet a little [name_u]Vesper[/name_u]!
Gonna be straight up honest here since you asked for opinions, this is one of those names I see frequently on nb that I just do not get at all. It’s kind of a tongue twister, I feel like [name_u]Daffy[/name_u] Duck when I try to say it, but mainly I do not find it pretty. Should that necessarily be a qualifier for a girls name? No of course not. But that does tend to be my taste and well, I can’t really find other qualities to redeem it for me. I feel like it’s one of those names that could go really right on the right person and really wrong on the wrong one. So I would never turn my nose up if I heard on somebody else, however it’s just not me at all.
