Looking for thoughts/opinions on [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. for a little boy What vibes/associations do you have with the name [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]?
While it seems to have been popular here on Nameberry, Iāve never actually met a [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] ever, except in novels. [name_f][/name_f] Itās a great name, as it has dual connotations ā quite old-fashioned, vintage, but also nature-oriented. [name_f][/name_f] When I lived in [name_m]Tucson[/name_m], going into the desert looking for jasper was good fun.
I adore [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. It seems to be picking up speed in my area. Thereās a 4yo [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] at my kidsā school and I have a friend whose daughter is expecting a little [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. I like that it is a vintage name with nature vibes. I picture a [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] being a somewhat gentle and caring person.
I love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]It feels mystical and bright, but also totally grounded, traditional but contemporary, wordy but name-y. It feels stylish to me with a hint of mystery and I love the gemstone.
[name_f][/name_f]I know it has the [name_f]Twilight[/name_f] association, but not being a [name_f]Twilight[/name_f] fan, I donāt think too heavily of that.
I love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]! I know a few, and it gives me jaunty, winsome, confident, creative & likeable vibes. Itās more the artsy name but I can also see it on a sporty guy/ jock type (who is also learning guitar). Itās a very cool name! I also love [name_m]Casper[/name_m] but I get thatās a tougher choice given the ghost association. [name_m]Jesper[/name_m] is cool too but less familiar.
I love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. Heās dashing, mischievous, with old-fashioned charm but the whimsy of a new-fashioned nature name. Heād work equally well in a sibset with vintage gems (no pun intended) or more trendy word names. Versatile, likeable, and stylish!
Absolutely love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
I think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is lovely such a handsome name that feels romantic, dreamy with this moody dark academia flair. For me I associate [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] with early winter nights, rain beating against oversized Victorian windows, libraries overfilled with the classics, roaring fires and antique brass compasses. I only know one [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] (older sister is Evi3) heās sweet little two year old boy but aside from that only one.
We named our 4th and second son Jasper. We have not regretted it. We like it because it has a nice vibe and it is not a name which you might hear to often. That also was a reason for that Name.
Siblings are: Leonor, Evelyn and Aaron
I love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]! I agree with previous sentiments that it feels a mix of vintage and earthy. It also sounds/looks slightly āsoft boy nameā to me yet still feels very sturdy and established. i think i took it off of my list because it seemed like it was climbing up the charts in the last few years, but I donāt think Iāve ever actually met one or even heard one called out for at a park.
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] strikes me as an outdoor-loving, barefoot-racing, country boy. While I love the name, I do have a hard time placing it on an adult.
Iāve never met a real life [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], but it gives me gentle and confident vibes.
[name_f][/name_f]Iād envision a boy named [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] to be reserved but friendly.
[name_f][/name_f]Maybe creative (he likes to write, draw, or play an instrument) and academic-focused, but also with a love for athletics like cross country and tennis and who likes who hike and spend time in nature. Maybe he combines those interests and is in marching band and hoping for a college scholarship from it.
[name_f][/name_f]I feel like heād want to visit every national park in his lifetime.
[name_f][/name_f]Heād have a smaller group of close friends, but heād be so genuinely nice that all his classmates know him and will greet him at school. Youād trust him to pet sit your dog, tutor your niece or nephew in chemistry, or give your grandma jogging tips after she expressed wanting to be more active.
Iād like to meet a [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] in real life.
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is a perfectly good name, I donāt see any reason not to use it. Go for it!
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is a variation of [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]
I know @anna03! So is Casper and Jesper. Just outlining some related options.
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is lovely! [name_f][/name_f] He feels sweet and smart and proper. [name_f][/name_f] The related [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] is my favorite boysā name, so I do prefer that (and Gaspard) to [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] myself, but it is a lovely name, and I love seeing it used! [name_f][/name_f] I couldnāt tell you why, but I especially envision a little baseball player with the name.
[name_f][/name_f]Good luck!
Yes! All derivative of an ancient name of one of the three [name_m]Magi[/name_m] from Scripture. [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], [name_m]Melchior[/name_m], and [name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] were traditionally the 3 wise men
[name_f][/name_f]i have a [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and love all the variations
Iām definitely biased because heās a family name for me, but I think Jasperās absolutely lovely!! [name_m]Handsome[/name_m], classic, and gentle, heās got the nature connection via the precious stone, and the Biblical connection thatās important to some. Heās very oversaturated in my area at the moment, and heās in the top 100 currently in the UK, but he still feels a little rarer than he is.
