Victor or Vincent?

Which name do you prefer? What do each of the names make you think of? [name]Do[/name] you know any one with these names?

[name]Victor[/name] totally remembers me of “[name]Victor[/name]/[name]Victoria[/name]”, and [name]Vincent[/name] sounds like the baby will be born at age 30, but I definetly prefer [name]Vincent[/name].

My husband and I are having this debate right now, only we prefer the [name]Viktor[/name] spelling.

He says [name]Viktor[/name], I say [name]Vincent[/name]. [name]Viktor[/name] sounds harsher and I think it’s more difficult for a small child to wear, while [name]Vincent[/name] works on any age. The one thing I like better about [name]Viktor[/name] is the lack of nns, while [name]Vincent[/name] has [name]Vince[/name] (which I do not like).

[name]Vincent[/name] reminds me of [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Price[/name], and [name]Viktor[/name] kind of reminds me of vicar (another plus for [name]Vincent[/name])

[name]Vincent[/name]: I think of the [name]Don[/name] [name]McLean[/name] song [name]Vincent[/name] ([name]Starry[/name] [name]Starry[/name] [name]Night[/name]),it’s about [name]Vincent[/name] van Gogh. there’s a little danish prince named [name]Vincent[/name] too.

[name]Victor[/name]: This is really weird, but I think of [name]Victor[/name] on Days of Our Lives. I haven’t watched that show for years, but he’s my first thought!

oh, i like [name]Vincent[/name] better!

I have a tendency to prefer “softer” boys names so [name]Vincent[/name] wins over the more “harsh” sounding [name]Victor[/name].

I prefer [name]Vincent[/name], but I also like [name]Victor[/name]. A similar name that I fancy is [name]Valor[/name].

I like [name]Vincent[/name].

[name]One[/name] of my H.S. classmates has a son named R. [name]Vincent[/name], [name]Vinny[/name], for short. He is so freaking adorable! He is one of the reasons, I have grew to like the name.

My grandparents pastor name is [name]Vincent[/name], and if I remember correctly, their oldest son also has [name]Vincent[/name], somewhere in his name.

I prefer [name]Victor[/name]. Sounds smart and handsome to my ears.

[name]Vincent[/name] sounds… worn out? Does that make sense?

haha…me too…I bet it’s been at least 10 years since I’ve watched it.

I have been loving [name]Vincent[/name] a lot lately though. I don’t love nn [name]Vince[/name] either but I think it’s better than [name]Vic[/name]. I kind of love nn [name]Vin[/name] (even if it is a bit “[name]Diesel[/name]”.)

[name]Vincent[/name] reminds me of [name]Van[/name] Gogh, [name]Vince[/name] Lombardi and a really cute boy I went to elementary school with.

[name]Victor[/name] reminds me of [name]Queen[/name] [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Victor[/name] [name]Laszlo[/name] from Casablanca, the Hungarian Quidditch player in [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name], and a really smart guy I went to college with.

I suppose I prefer [name]Vincent[/name], but they are both nice…it would depend on the last name.

I prefer [name]Victor[/name] because to me it sounds handsome and sophisticated whereas [name]Vincent[/name] sounds immature. My perceptions of both are affected by a guy in my grade named [name]Vincent[/name] and my the good things I have been told about my second cousin and great-grandfather [name]Victor[/name].

I love [name]Victor[/name]. [name]Vincent[/name] is nice but [name]Victor[/name] has a stronger sound.

My vote is for [name]Vincent[/name].
It makes me think of [name]Van[/name] Gogh, [name]Ethan[/name] Hawke’s character in the movie GATTACA, [name]Adrian[/name] Grenier’s character [name]Vince[/name] (or ‘[name]Vinny[/name]’) [name]Chase[/name] from the show Entourage, and also a little bit of the dog from the show LOST…
I personally like the softer sound the c makes in [name]Vincent[/name] as opposed to the much more harsh sound that [name]Victor[/name] has. The only associations I have for that are [name]Victor[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Viktor[/name] Krum from [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. =]

[name]Victor[/name] is the clear winner.

I like [name]Vincent[/name] the best. In fact, I love the name [name]Vincent[/name], but my ex boyfriend used the name for his son. I always think of the actor [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Price[/name] when I hear it. [name]Van[/name] Gogh also comes to mind. I think those are positive associations.

[name]Victor[/name] does remind me of the character on Days of Our Lives. He was pretty memorable and naughty. I also know a naughty little boy name [name]Victor[/name]. He is always up to some something.

I prefer [name]Victor[/name] as it reminds me of Vector from Super [name]Mario[/name]

Agreed ^^
[name]Vincent[/name] is sweet.
I also know a baby [name]Vincent[/name] who is just adorable, and a teen named [name]Victor[/name] who is a mess…

I like them both! I like [name]Vinny[/name] as a nickname for [name]Vincent[/name]. But [name]Victor[/name] is very handsome. I think it would be cute on a little boy these days.

[name]Vincent[/name] is on my shortlist, it is familiar across most European countries and sounds good pronounced in different dialects.

[name]Vin[/name] and [name]Vinny[/name] are more appealing to me than [name]Vic[/name], [name]Vicky[/name], [name]Tor[/name].

[name]Victor[/name] makes me think of victorious and triumphant in battle.

[name]Vincent[/name] makes me think of someone who’s nicknamed either [name]Vince[/name] or [name]Vinny[/name].

[name]Victor[/name] makes me think of someone a little more snobby.

[name]Both[/name] have the potential to be cool
