Victoria or Aria?

Which one do you prefer and why? What kinds of people do you envision?

EDIT: Thank you so very much for all of your input and opinions.

[name]Both[/name] are very pretty names! I’ve actually met a [name]Victoria[/name] and she was a skater, tom boy girl so that just flies in the face of the dainty but strong image I get. She was anything but dainty! For [name]Aria[/name], I think of whimsy and dainty also.

I prefer [name]Aria[/name], but don’t think you could go wrong with either.

[name]Aria[/name]- Someone really artistic, but not book-smart. [name]Brown[/name] hair and blue eyes.

[name]Victoria[/name]- Intelligent, with very queenly looks. [name]Brown[/name] hair and expressive brown eyes.

I like [name]Victoria[/name] more, but if I may make a suggestion that goes halfway between the exotic-but-familiar [name]Aria[/name] and the regal [name]Victoria[/name], what about [name]Alessandra[/name]/[name]Alexandrine[/name]/[name]Alexandrie[/name]?

I prefer [name]Victoria[/name]. I think its sounds really classic and regal. [name]Aria[/name] is pretty too, just nms

For [name]Victoria[/name] I picture a tall girl with long brown hair and very delicate features. She’s really clever and has a commanding presence.

For [name]Aria[/name] I picture an olive skinned, petite Italian girl whose very bubbly and congenial.

[name]Aria[/name] - I imagine a very popular ā€˜queen bee’ type of girl, blonde or light brown hair and very thin.
[name]Victoria[/name] - [name]Victoria[/name] evokes all things elegant.

I much prefer [name]Victoria[/name].

[name]Victoria[/name] - The swedish crown princess is called [name]Victoria[/name], she’s stunning and smart, and she’s what I associate with the name.
[name]Aria[/name] - someone whimsical and romantic.

I like both, but [name]Victoria[/name] is my favourite of the two.

[name]Victoria[/name] - my best friend’s name is [name]Victoria[/name], so I love it. She goes by [name]Tori[/name], which I love even more.
[name]Aria[/name]- I see this a lot since Pretty [name]Little[/name] Liars! It’s ok.

I prefer [name]Victoria[/name]. I like [name]Tori[/name] or [name]Ria[/name] as nicknames. [name]Aria[/name] is too artsy for my taste.

Ahhhhh you know my tastes well.
[name]Alessandra[/name] I adore, its my number one name. [name]Alexandrie[/name] is a great love of mine as well.

Hmmm, tough one! They are quite different styles in my opinion, [name]Victoria[/name] very classic, [name]Aria[/name] a bit more trendy (not to say that it doesn’t have a long history, clealry it does, but I think that it has become way more popular since Game of Thrones was made into a TV show). I like them both, I have a friend (who I’ve known since we were 8) named [name]Victoria[/name] and a second cousin named [name]Aria[/name] and my husband’s grandmother was Arja (Finnish form of [name]Aria[/name], pronounced the same way in his family), so this has defnitely coloured my feelings about the names. Couldn’t really tell you which one I prefer, as I lean towards classic names, but [name]Aria[/name] has some family significance! All I can say is that I don’t think that either name would be out of place on a baby today, nor would they create any particular stereotypes, I don’t think either one would sound funny as a Dr. or a Ligh [name]Court[/name] [name]Judge[/name] or a hair dresse. [name]Both[/name] are quite versatile in my opinion. [name]Hope[/name] that this helps a bit!

I love the name [name]Victoria[/name]. I think it’s gorgeous, sophisticated, and feminine without drowning you in pink ruffles. I haven’t decided if I would ever use it because I can’t stand the nn [name]Vicky[/name], which is what most people would want to call her. What are the rules for nicknames anyway? Can I tell people ā€œplease don’t call my child [name]Vicky[/name]? Her name is [name]VICTORIA[/name]ā€ or is that rude? [name]Will[/name] people think I’m a psycho mom and just back away slowly?

[name]Aria[/name] is also very pretty, though I prefer [name]Victoria[/name].

I imagine a smart, classy rather serious girl when I think [name]Victoria[/name]. [name]Aria[/name] feels like an artistic, bohemian girl.
