[name_u]Baby[/name_u] boy is 2 weeks old already and we still haven’t found a name we love. The top contenders are currently
[name_u]Walter[/name_u] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Albert[/name_m] (formally), [name_m]Albie[/name_m] or [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] for short
Any 3 syllable suggestions for a middle name for [name_m]Albert[/name_m]?
I’ve been searching forever for a vintage boy name ending in the ee sound but can’t find anything my hubby and I both agree on (except [name_m]Albie[/name_m] but we’re not in love with [name_m]Albert[/name_m] as a formal name).
We’ve considered [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m], [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u], [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], and [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] but none feel quite right.
Sibling names are [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u].
I just love both [name_m]Albie[/name_m] AND [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]! Would you like [name_m]Albin[/name_m] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]? [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] is lovely as well and it is more of a stretch but I think [name_m]Albie[/name_m] could work as a nickname for [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u].
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there! Congratulations on the birth of your son!
I really love both [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] & [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. If I’m being honest, I feel neither [name_u]Walter[/name_u] nor [name_m]Albert[/name_m] sound like a sibling to [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] & [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. Could this possibly be why you are having a difficult time choosing? Sure, sibling names don’t have to match or even have a similar style, but I’m curious if another name entirely could be the one for your baby boy?
Names that come to mind with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] & [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]:
I really like both [name_u]Walter[/name_u] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] and [name_m]Albert[/name_m] (Albie or Bertie) with your family. I agree with you about [name_m]Albert[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Albie[/name_m] and [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] and though I don’t mind [name_m]Albert[/name_m] I don’t love it like I do the short forms. I would happily use [name_m]Albert[/name_m] though to get to the short forms. I think Albie/Alby could work for [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u], but you’d have to be comfortable with it. I really like both [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] with your family.
Other ideas
Montague/ Montgomery/Mortimer with nn [name_m]Monty[/name_m]
[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] - [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]
[name_m]Bertram[/name_m] - [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]
I actually think full name Albie goes well with Hugo and Annabel!
Albie Theodore
Albie Reginald
Other eee names (you have prob thought of these but I can’t resist as they’re my fav!)
Reggie
Lenny
Bobby
Johnny
Vinnie
Freddie
Alfie

Bernie
Barney
Danny
Sebby
Sammy
Tommy
I wonder where you live? Albie is actually #45 in the UK (1400 baby Albie’s registered in the UK last year) so I would consider it to be perfectly acceptable to give him Albie as a first name. I also think it sounds perfect with Hugo and Annabelle.
I do love Walter as well though- just less keen on Barnaby.
Middle names:
Albie Walter (Walter isn’t 3 syllables I know but how good does this combo sound?!)
Albie Peregrine
Albie Benjamin
Albie Josiah
Albie Frederick
Albie Leonor
Albie Nicholas
Albie Alexander (4 syllables)
Albie Gregory
Albie Llywellyn
Albie Ebenezer (4 syllables)
Albie Harrison
I also think most of these sound good with Bertie as well as Albie.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your kids names!
[name_u]Walter[/name_u] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] is great! I do love [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a nn for Albert… and second the suggestion of Albin!!
What if you did [name_u]Walter[/name_u] [name_m]Albert[/name_m]? You could still use [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a nickname but not use [name_m]Albert[/name_m] as a first name if you aren’t sold on it. [name_u]Or[/name_u] even [name_u]Walter[/name_u] [name_m]Albie[/name_m]?
I think [name_u]Artie[/name_u] is more the nn for [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] and that is lovely but I don’t feel any warmer towards [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]
Your children are beautifully named! Of the options you’ve considered, I think [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] is so sweet and whimsical and lovely. Of your final two, I think [name_u]Walter[/name_u] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] is charming, but I do think [name_m]Albert[/name_m] sounds better with your sibset.
I’m not sure if it’s strictly vintage, but when you said three syllable names ending in an “ee” sound, [name_m]Thierry[/name_m] immediately came to mind.
Other suggestions for "ee" names (not all these fit the vintage vibe, but I thought I'd see if anything sparked)
