I love the name [name]Alma[/name] (I’m aware that it is a bit old-fashioned, but I think it is sweet). I am still looking for a middle name. The last name is short and begins with an S.
So far, I have
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Elenora[/name] or [name]Alma[/name] [name]Elinor[/name]
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Nora[/name]
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Norabel[/name]
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Nola[/name]
Any thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated. You can also let me know how you feel about the name [name]Alma[/name].
Thanks.
I have a wonderful Aunt [name]Alma[/name], who is my mother’s oldest sister. With such a positive association, just hearing or seeing the name makes me smile. It is a sweet name like you said.
From your list of middle name, I like [name]Elenora[/name] and [name]Theodora[/name] best. I do think a more mainstream middle name may be preferable though.
I’m not a big fan or first & middle names ending in the same letters. I do like [name]Alma[/name] [name]Norabel[/name].
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] is lovely. I do also like [name]Alma[/name] [name]Wendy[/name]. It sounds like a child born in the 50’s [name]Alma[/name] [name]Jeanette[/name] is also great! Good luck on your name hunt!
I hear you. [name]Love[/name] the name [name]Nora[/name] too. [name]Glad[/name] you like norabel. And, I think alma [name]Lucille[/name] sounds lovely!
I think [name]Alma[/name] [name]Nora[/name] flows simply and beautifully, It’s by far my favorite of these choices. Also, I think [name]Alma[/name] is very pretty and will quickly seem as young as your little girl!
I like [name]Alma[/name] [name]Nora[/name] best from your options, although I think I slightly prefer the flow of [name]Alma[/name] [name]Noreen[/name]
Thanks for your input. I love both names, but was worried that [name]Alma[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] were too similar and/or that [name]Alma[/name] would be better served with a longer middle name. I’m glad you like it!
I like the suggestion of [name]Alma[/name] [name]Noreen[/name]. The variation I thought of was [name]Alma[/name] [name]Nadine[/name] (I like the meaning of [name]Nadine[/name]). A few other possibilities:
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Elenora[/name] - too much -a at the end
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Elinor[/name] - I like this combination best, though I prefer the spelling [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Nora[/name] - again, too much -a at the end
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Miriam[/name] - way too much m
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] - I love classic/old-fashioned names, but this is too much for me
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Norabel[/name] - this would be my second choice of your list
[name]Alma[/name] [name]Nola[/name] - again, too much -a at the end
I agree with your comments! I seem to be enamored with names that end in A. Also, thanks for calling out all the m’s with [name]Miriam[/name] combo—something was bothering me about the flow, but I didn’t realize what it was.
