I am posting for future reference. DH and I have decided on a name for our first child/daughter- [name]Hattie[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] vintage, old-fasioned names, DH loves trendy names and so we have [name]Hattie[/name]. Goes along with modern trends while still maintaining its vintage feel. Middle names are family names. I am trying to come up with a list of future sibling names. I am concerned that I will not be able to find names that A. fit with [name]Hattie[/name] and B. that we love just as much as [name]Hattie[/name].
Here is our list thus far, but I would like to add/hopefully find a name that gives me the same feel as [name]Hattie[/name]…
Boys:
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name] (We both really like this one)
[name]Levi[/name] (Another we both really like)
Girls:
[name]Ada[/name] (I like this with [name]Hattie[/name], but it seems kind of bland)
[name]Pearl[/name] (It’s growing on me)
[name]Lucy[/name] (We like, but don’t [name]LOVE[/name])
[name]Zoe[/name] (different feel, but DH [name]LOVE[/name]'S
I think [name]Hattie[/name] & [name]Mabel[/name] would be so cute together. That’s the most perfect thing I can think of at the moment.
I like your boy choices, though I’d say [name]Flynn[/name] doesn’t really have a vintage feel to it. I like [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Levi[/name] much better with [name]Hattie[/name]
A couple of suggestions for honoring [name]Jerry[/name] and [name]Richard[/name] (FIL is a [name]Gerald[/name] and my dad is a [name]Richard[/name], so I’ve been thinking about this). [name]Jericho[/name] if you want to give a little Old Testament vibe to go along with [name]Miriam[/name]. Or [name]Gerard[/name] if you want to stay a bit more straight-laced!
Thats funny you mention [name]Gerard[/name]. If the first baby was a boy we were pretty set on [name]Noah[/name] [name]Gerard[/name]. DH wanted to spell it with a J though.
As for a girl, [name]Ada[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name] are my favorites. I don’t like the ending on [name]Hattie[/name] with names like [name]Lucy[/name] and zoe.
[name]Pearl[/name] [name]Dolores[/name] [name]Emma[/name] is a lovely combo that I never thought about! [name]Dolores[/name] [name]Emma[/name] is my grandmothers name. Thanks!
