looking for a name for litlle sister to [name]Violet[/name], we really like nature names but i dont want to do another flower, i am loving [name]Rowan[/name], but im afraid its not girly enough to go with [name]Violet[/name]. we call our daughter [name]Vi[/name] as a nn and i love [name]Vi[/name] and [name]Roe[/name]/Row together, idk, what do you guys think?
I love [name]Rowan[/name] on a girl, but I’m also worried about the unisex-ness of it. It’s lovely and soft sounding but I’m worried since it is popular with boys as well, it will cause her problems. I have a name usually associated with men, but it is somewhat unisex and it has been a hassle my whole life. I don’t want to inflict that on a daughter, so I’ve decided not to use [name]Rowan[/name].
I like [name]Linden[/name]! It’s a tree, not a flower, preserves the -an sound of [name]Rowan[/name], but is exclusively female.
I know half a dozen male [name]Rowan[/name]'s, but not a single female [name]Rowan[/name], to me it does not compare to how beautiful the name [name]Violet[/name] is. Without using a flower name:
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Saffron[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Ember[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Savannah[/name] (as in the area of land)
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Acacia[/name] (Australian tree)
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Raven[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Sienna[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Eden[/name] (as in the garden of [name]Eden[/name])
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Maple[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Briar[/name]
Hehe that was a fun thread, let me know if you see one you like!
I think [name]Rowan[/name] is cute! I like unisex names! [name]Love[/name] [name]Rory[/name] as a nickname.
Suggestions I like from above are: [name]Sienna[/name], [name]Willow[/name], [name]Ember[/name], [name]Eden[/name], [name]Briar[/name], [name]Raven[/name], [name]Savannah[/name], and [name]Linden[/name].
I like [name]Lochlan[/name], [name]Laken[/name], [name]Astrid[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Cheyenne[/name], [name]Montana[/name], [name]Dakota[/name], [name]Kellyn[/name], [name]Braelyn[/name], [name]Harlow[/name], [name]Sierra[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Raygen[/name], [name]Presley[/name], [name]Paisley[/name], [name]Rylan[/name], [name]Isreal[/name], [name]Ireland[/name], [name]Langston[/name], [name]Rylie[/name] too…
[name]Love[/name] [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Linden[/name].
Also, [name]Jasmine[/name]… [name]Jasmine[/name] is pretty flower name… I like the spelling [name]Jazmyn[/name] myself
I love [name]Rowan[/name] for a girl. When I first heard it, it was on a girl so I think of it as a girls name. [name]Rowan[/name] evokes the image of Autumm for me. I desparately wanted to use [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Rowan[/name] for my 2nd dd who was born in the fall. I still love it and think it wouldve worked very well, but im glad I went with thena,e she has. [name]Felicity[/name] emight be a good compromise if you want something more feminine. F names remind me of the fall…[name]Felicity[/name] or [name]Fiona[/name] with [name]Rowan[/name] as amiddle. If you use it for her first name, be prepared for people thinking its a boys name, but im sure [name]Rowan[/name] will pull it off
[name]Rowan[/name] is really masculine, and even more so next to [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Linden[/name] is not exclusively female, it is almost exclusively male
I think [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] work nicely together, as they are both nature names. However, I love the pp’s suggestion of [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]. Or how about [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name]?
When I first saw the thread, I assumed it was about a girl [name]Violet[/name] and a boy [name]Rowan[/name]. So yeah, t feels boyish to me.
When I saw your title, I wondered if you had a son named [name]Rowan[/name] and was wondering if [name]Violet[/name] went with it… and that’s why you were posting in the girls’ section.
I don’t mind unisex names. In fact, I really like some of them. Unfortunately, [name]Ronan[/name] doesn’t work for me with [name]Violet[/name] because [name]Violet[/name] seems so feminine. I don’t think you have to pick a feminine name as [name]Violet[/name] for your second daughter, but it should probably be a widely-acknowledged girl name.
I liked the suggestion of [name]Linden[/name] with [name]Violet[/name]. I also like [name]Lark[/name], [name]Eden[/name], and [name]Winter[/name].
The only [name]Linden[/name] I have ever met is a man!
Fair enough-- I’ve met male Lyndons, but only female Lindens.
