Violet, Esme...what else?

I’ve posted a couple of times before about possible names in the combined forum, but yesterday we found out it’s A GIRL!!! Due in Feb
We also have a son who is almost 20 mths old.

Can you wonderful berries give me some more options based on our list before I post a pole? Thank you!

  • [name]Violet[/name]
  • [name]Esme[/name]
  • [name]Riley[/name] (husband’s #1, I am wary of it for a girl)
  • [name]Finley[/name] (it was our possible boy’s name, but dh wants it for a girl now, I’m not liking it)

Last name is Loper. We would like [name]Mary[/name] (passed grandmother and family name) as one of the two middle names. We can do just one middle if needed. Or both [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Joy[/name] after another grandma. Our son’s name is [name]Caden[/name] [name]Elijah[/name] [name]Kenyon[/name] Loper.

I am British, he is American, we live in the US. I am looking for possible French or English names, not as trendy as [name]Caden[/name] PLEASE.

Thanks again!

I love [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Esme[/name]! Wonderful names! I am soooo with you on [name]Finley[/name] and [name]Riley[/name] though–I couldn’t get into either of those for a girl.

[name]Adele[/name]–although it is a little short for mn’s [name]Mary[/name] or [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]–I’m particularly fond of [name]Mary[/name] [name]Alice[/name] used as fn.
[name]Estelle[/name]–with [name]Joy[/name] [name]Marie[/name] as mn’s I really like this option
[name]Nora[/name]–again [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Joy[/name] are very short with this name
[name]Regina[/name]–I like this a lot with [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name]

I really like [name]Violet[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name], but for most other names those two mn’s are very short. Would you consider variations on those names?

I like [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] but I’m not a great fan of [name]Riley[/name] or [name]Finley[/name] for a girl (too trendy). Having said that I have to admit that [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Finley[/name] are stylistically better paired with your son [name]Caden[/name]'s name. Here are some suggestions for other girls names you may want to consider.

[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Brynn[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Auden[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Darcy[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Frances[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Briony[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Brice[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Avis[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Garnet[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Hadley[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Hollis[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Marlowe[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Sadie[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Delphine[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Camille[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Celeste[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper
[name]Elodie[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] Loper

I know I totally messed with my naming possibilties with my son’s name LOL! It was a compromise. We named him [name]Caden[/name] as the shortening for [name]Cadence[/name] (rythm) as my husband is very musical. He loves the name and I told him he could have this one if I got the next one. I also like [name]August[/name] and [name]Beckett[/name] and that (along with [name]Finley[/name]) could have been this baby’s name had it been a boy. I am sooo shocked it’s a girl, and so happy!

I agree that [name]Violet[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is the best one. I’d rather not have [name]Mary[/name] as a first name as it is the name of one of my best friends. [name]Joy[/name] doesn’t have to be used. I used [name]Kenyon[/name] last time which is my grandma’s mn (as well as every generation before her).

I was thinking something like [name]Violet[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Mary[/name] or something that has 3 syllables like that. Though I don’t want to use [name]Elizabeth[/name] really, too popular.

[name]Adele[/name] - out. I know a baby [name]Adela[/name], which is also her mom’s name.
[name]Alice[/name] - like. It’s been bouncing around out list for a while.
[name]Bridgit[/name] - Sort of like.
[name]Estelle[/name] - out. It’s my little sister’s name.
[name]Felicity[/name] - don’t like.
[name]Louise[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like two L’s.
[name]Nora[/name] - Like a lot, but with my british accent [name]Nora[/name] Loper sounds funny to me.
[name]Regina[/name] - ok
[name]Vivienne[/name] - Like. But too Brangalina?

[name]Phoebe[/name] - out, it’s my friend’s daughter’s name.
[name]Brynn[/name] - ok. Know an adult by that name.
[name]Auden[/name] - Too close to [name]Caden[/name]?
[name]Penelope[/name] - out, it’s another friend’s daughter’s name.
[name]Darcy[/name] - not sure about
[name]Frances[/name] - out. Know a little girl by that name.
[name]Briony[/name] - like.
[name]Daphne[/name] - love. Another on our list, but sounded weird with [name]Mary[/name].
[name]Brice[/name] - not a fan.
[name]Avis[/name] - too british old lady, not in a good way
[name]Garnet[/name] - not a fan.
[name]Hadley[/name] - out. Know a baby. Plus my name is [name]Hattie[/name].
[name]Hollis[/name] - Like. Actually my paternal grandmother’s maiden name.
[name]Ivy[/name] - Like. [name]Friend[/name]'s baby’s middle name though.
[name]Marlowe[/name] - Sounds like a wine.
[name]Sadie[/name] - [name]Love[/name]. But know a toddler.
[name]Delphine[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this. [name]Love[/name] how french it is. But too close to “dolphin”, especially living by the ocean ha.
[name]Camille[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like.
[name]Celeste[/name] - Reminds me of Babar the elephant’s wife.
[name]Elodie[/name] - Not a fan.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Keep them coming!
