Ok so I’ve been in love with [name]Lavender[/name] as a name for a long time. I also kind of like [name]Lilac[/name] but maybe it sounds too “old lady”? And [name]Violet[/name] I like because of the NN “[name]Vi[/name]” but it might be a bit to trendy. What are your opinions on these three names? And which do you prefer of the three and why?
[name]Violet[/name] feels very overdone to me these days, but I like both [name]Lilac[/name] and [name]Lavender[/name] a lot. [name]Lilac[/name] has the benefit of sounding similar to the increasingly popular [name]Lila[/name]/[name]Lilah[/name] but with an unexpected and spunky final twist. [name]Lavender[/name] feels more substantial than a lot of other botanical names and also gets bonus points for the [name]Roald[/name] Dahl character association.
I think [name]Lilac[/name] is adorable, [name]Lavender[/name] is just a little too much and [name]Violet[/name] is becoming a little overdone as a first name but makes a wonderful middle name.
[name]Lilac[/name] would be my favourite but there are many similar names out there right now; [name]Lilah[/name], [name]Lila[/name], [name]Lyra[/name], [name]Lyric[/name], [name]Lola[/name] etc.
I like all of them but [name]Violet[/name] has become so trendy. I’ve loved [name]Lilac[/name] since I first read a book with a character by that name when I was twelve. I think [name]Lilac[/name] is beautiful and underused. [name]Lavender[/name] is gorgeous as well and my favorite color to boot but if I had to choose I’d probably go with [name]Lilac[/name].
[name]Violet[/name] is my favorite out of the three but it’s become so trendy and overused.
[name]Violet[/name] is much to popular for my taste nowadays, but I love both [name]Lilac[/name] and [name]Lavender[/name]. Out of the two, I prefer [name]Lilac[/name] slightly.
Well I have always loved the names [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Lavender[/name] so I can say they are great names to use. If you are afraid of [name]Violet[/name] being too trendy you can use as a middle name.
It would be lovely to see a little girl named [name]Lavender[/name]. I am surprised with the popularity of the color purple in fashion and the name [name]Violet[/name] that lavender has not increased in popularity.
[name]Lilac[/name] is more unique if you want that, but I personally think it is better as a middle name. It would be different to meet a little [name]Lilac[/name] though.
Of the three [name]Lilac[/name] gets my vote!! But I’m biased because they are my favorite flowers though.
My dh wanted [name]Lilac[/name] for our first DD i thought he was crazy. Fast forward 3 years and another DD and i secretly love the name now. I like [name]Lavender[/name] but dont love it and [name]Violet[/name] is a lttle too popular now. Great names though.
I love [name]Violet[/name] despite it’s popularity- I’ve never met anyone named this, so maybe my view is altered?- though [name]Lilac[/name] is a frontrunner. I like it as an alternative to [name]Lilah[/name]/[name]Lila[/name] (which I’ve never really liked.) [name]Lavender[/name] is interesting, but a little too odd for my tastes.

I totally agree with this. [name]Violet[/name] is way to popular now unfortunately seeing as I love this name but would definitely use it as a middle name. [name]Lilac[/name] is just beautiful as is [name]Lavender[/name] but I slightly prefer [name]Lilac[/name]!
I think I have to pick [name]Lavender[/name]. I read it in a book and think it is sooooo sweet. I think [name]Lilac[/name] would have some prn issues and [name]Violet[/name] is very popular.
[name]Lilac[/name].
[name]Violet[/name] is overused and [name]Lavender[/name] may get the NN Lav which is not a nice association.
FWIW I really like [name]Viola[/name].
[name]Lavender[/name]. I just love it, [name]Lilac[/name] comes very close. The problem is that it lacks a nice, keen nickname. [name]Ved[/name] or Vendy, maybe? There’s [name]Vivi[/name], [name]Viola[/name], [name]Lettie[/name] for [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Lily[/name], [name]Lila[/name] for [name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name] is my favorite of the 3.
I just love [name]Lila[/name] (but not [name]Delilah[/name]) and [name]Lilac[/name] feels more complete.
I like [name]Lavender[/name] and you could use nickname [name]Vin[/name] or [name]Vander[/name] or Vinter or V
[name]Violet[/name] is nice, but not as rare. I dislike the shy violet thing & similar sound to violent
