Both are names to honour family, [name_f]Violet[/name_f] for my husband’s late gran and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] which is both my mum’s name and my middle name. We do also have another honour name in mind. It is quite a rare name so I don’t feel comfortable sharing it (not from my side of the family) but it starts with Bla so Cecilia is out with it!
Our daughter is [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f], we chose her first name simply because we love it. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is a form of my name and [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is to honour a late family member also.
We’ve been thinking of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as a first name too so this is what we’re playing around with at the moment.
Hey there!
I love [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. It’s stunning! Classic, chic, feminine and unexpected all at once!
I also like your [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] combos. Can’t pick one if I don’t know the Bla- name.
Personally, I don’t love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as a first name, I just think of “violent” when I hear it and it’s quite common nowadays.
I understand about the second honour name. I just don’t feel comfortable sharing it online but it does flow in the chosen combinations, it just doesn’t work when following [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f].
My only issue with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as a first name is the fact that it’s an honour name but I do love it and it’d probably be on our list anyway.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] are my favorites for you. Both sound great your older daughter’s name.
I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I usually prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], but [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] sounds better in this combo.
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] B is lovely as well.
I love the idea of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] after Great-grandma. What a lucky name to have for such a direct honor name! It’s super sweet, kind, cheerful & all around pleasant sounding. I also like how it’s a nature name like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], but they’re not too obviously cutesy together. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is lovely, but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is just as good. And I think it’s better, because it puts the honor name first, you know?
I do like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] a lot w/[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] too, but I seriously meet a ton of them in my area. [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is so cute, & way more interesting. That’s my second choice, but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] being a family name is hard to pass up.
Does anyone think it would be odd to have one child named after a relative and not the other? I feel like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] has her own first name then connections to her family but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] wouldn’t. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think she’d be [name_f]Violet[/name_f], after gran rather than [name_f]Violet[/name_f], her own person. Does that make sense? Lol. It’s my one hang up with Violet.
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] sounds beautiful together. I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is my fav first name! It has the same magic as [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
Hard to say which order of middles flows the best but I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] being followed but a grounded M name
I like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
I strongly dislike when parents give one child an honour name, name them after a parent etc and then the other child doesn’t get one. Most people might not care, but you never know how the children are going to react when they’re older, that’s why I would suggest not using an honour name for this daughter. But ultimately it’s up to you.
Yeah, I don’t know how I feel about it. It’s the order I’m concerned about. Both girls would technically have two honor names but one would have them as middle names and the other for a first and a middle name.
My favorite combination would be [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I think that [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is better because it’s a little kess mainstream than flower names, and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is too similar to the very popular [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]. I adore [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] as sisters. I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is gorgeous too and a close second, but I also love the sound of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
Hmm, I don’t know how I feel about [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a first name with it being connected to me. I don’t like to mess with names to honour late family members but we chose [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] to honour me because it was a variant (I’m [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]) I do love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] however! Thank you.
