I’m pregnant with my second child, who will be a sibling to [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Rhys[/name]. Girls’ names threw us for a loop the first time around and they are throwing us this time, too (The difference is that this time we aren’t finding out the sex of the baby ahead of time, so we need a girl’s name in our pocket before the birth.)
Right now I’m loving the first name [name]Violet[/name] despite its rising popularity, and I think it’s super cute paired with [name]Sebastian[/name]. Middle names are being elusive though. I’d like a name that nods to Iceland, which is a place DH and I have visited several times and love, but it’s not a requirement.
So far my short list is:
[name]Violet[/name] Freyja
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] (is this too descriptive-phrasey?)
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Isadora[/name] (this was DH’s favorite girl’s name during our first pregnancy, I’m meh about it but love the flow with [name]Violet[/name])
I’m feeling rather uninspired though, so I’d love to see what you can come up with!
I really love [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isadora[/name]! I absolutely love [name]Aurora[/name], but I’m not sure about it with [name]Violet[/name]… I really know nothing about Icelandic names, but I came across Brynja and Kristjana, which I think are pretty. I’m not sure how I feel about [name]Violet[/name] Kristjana and [name]Violet[/name] Brynja, but I do think they could work!
Thanks, [name]Ash[/name]! I do love the name [name]Odette[/name] but I think the similar “-et” ending would be too much with [name]Violet[/name]? I do like the stress being on the second syllable to be rhythmically different from [name]Violet[/name] though.
[name]Ophelia[/name] sounds beautiful with [name]Violet[/name] but if we used it everyone in our families would assume we are making a cheeky reference to the [name]Howard[/name] Stern Show, lol. DH and I are huge fans, and [name]Robin[/name] Quivers’ middle name is [name]Ophelia[/name], which comes up as a topic on the show quite often If I even suggested this to DH he would be all for it, I’m sure… ha ha!
