Violet or Isabelle?

Like many Berries, I love lots of names, but I’ve been slowly whittling down my girls names list to five names-just five.

So far my list consists of:

  1. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Belle[/name] nn Charlie/Lottie
  2. [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Alice[/name] nn Millie
  3. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
  4. [name]Nora/name [name]Lucille[/name]- I usually prefer the [name]Norah[/name] spelling but I’m not sure if I like [name]Nora[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] or [name]Norah[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] more.

I’m not quite sure what my fifth name should be. I was thinking of [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] but I also love the idea of [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Violet[/name]. [name]Charlotte[/name] is my first choice, and yes, I do realize that if I were to use [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] or [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Violet[/name] they’d both have [name]Belle[/name] in their names. That was done on purpose-my sister and I share a middle name, and I’d love if my kids shared some form of [name]Belle[/name] in their name.

Which leads me to my questions:

  1. Would two kids having [name]Belle[/name] somewhere in their respective names be too similar? Would I be setting myself up for disaster if I had a third daughter and then feel obligated to give her a [name]Belle[/name] middle name too?
  2. Would [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Isabelle[/name] would work better with [name]Charlotte[/name]/my list?
  3. If you don’t like [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Isabelle[/name] with my other four names, what names/combos would you suggest? My taste is fairly classic. Popularity doesn’t faze me that much, as [name]Charlotte[/name] is almost in the top 25, [name]Emilia[/name] is close to the popular [name]Emily[/name]/[name]Emma[/name]/[name]Amelia[/name], and [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]/[name]Norah[/name], although both outside of the top 100 at the moment, are increasing in popularity. A lot of the top 10 names are popular for a reason, but of course it would be nice if my daughter wouldn’t be one of many similarly named classmates.

Not a huge problem, but definitely not the best. There are lots of great names, why perseverate on the one? But this isn’t a real problem yet, so don’t worry about it- your tastes will change!

[name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] are much too close for my taste. I don’t like the double t ending. I may be biased, though- I really dislike [name]Violet[/name] anyway because it sounds like “violent.”
