So I’m really liking the name [name]Violet[/name]…[name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] perhaps? Is the name [name]Violet[/name] too trendy though? I now it’s “in fasion” now, but it’s also a timeless, classic name, so I’m hoping that’s the vibe you girls get from it also. [name]Love[/name] all the possible nn’s ([name]Vi[/name] or [name]Lettie[/name]) and the name in full, it’s easy to pronounce and spell, seems like a perfect fit. I really don’t mind that it’s a popular name, just as long as it’s not in the top 10. And I think it goes nicely with sister [name]Gabriella[/name].
[name]Juliet[/name]/[name]Juliette[/name] I really like also, but it is a bit long for me to say all the time. I already have a [name]Gabriella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name]), but I just wouldn’t want another long name, then it would become a bit too much. [name]Juliette[/name] isn’t that long, but also I don’t like the nn’s [name]Julie[/name] and I find [name]Jules[/name] hard to say (but I do like that nn). It’s hard 'cause I really do like this name, but I think it might be #2 on my list. Wanted to check in with you girls to see what you thought.
These are both beautiful names that pair nicely with [name]Gabriella[/name]. I have nothing to say against either. If you prefer [name]Juliet/name for being less popular, but don’t like the length or the nicknames, I personally think you can pull off [name]Lettie[/name], that you like so much from [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Etta[/name] (if you like it) from [name]Juliet/name.
thanks! I’m leaning more towards the name [name]Violet[/name], I just think it’s so pretty! [name]How[/name] does [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] sound? It’s hard to think of pretty mn’s to go.
I love both names, you can’t go wrong! [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] is beautiful. I also like the spelling [name]Isobel[/name].
I agree that [name]Lettie[/name] would work as a nickname for either name, though. I don’t see [name]Violet[/name] ever reaching the top 10, but I could be wrong.
thanks! [name]Glad[/name] to see that you girls don’t think the name [name]Violet[/name] is “too trendy” I think it’s the perfect fit. It does “kinda” look like word violent, but every name has it’s problems. They are two totaly different names, so I don’t think it’s a big deal.
cool, I really like the name [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] as well. Does it matter that my DD’s nn is [name]Bella[/name] though with the mn of [name]Isabel[/name] for [name]Violet[/name]?
[name]Violet[/name] has my vote! Also [name]Isobel[/name] is my favorite variant of the name and no I don’t think your daughter’s nn is an issue at all.
ooh, great suggestion, I like [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isobel[/name] also, it looks more vintage and interesting with the mn spelled that way. Not sure about the double O’s though, maybe the a would look better, as in [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]? Otherwise I agree, I do like it spelled [name]Isobel[/name]. And I’m glad you don’t think it’s an issue with her sisters nn (:
I definitely say [name]Violet[/name]. I like it more. Sure, I think [name]Violet[/name] feels trendier bc it wasn’t really very popular at all for many decades and within the past 5 years, made a comeback, whereas [name]Juliet[/name] and it’s variations have always been there.
I think [name]Violet[/name] is a very sweet name.
I don’t love [name]Juliet[/name]. It reminds me [name]Romeo[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] obviously. Also, I feel like it just feels a little worn with the [name]Julie[/name] and [name]Julias[/name]. I have to saw the past two years, I known of three two [name]Julia[/name] and 1 [name]Juliet[/name] among family and friends, whereas no Violets.
I understand bc [name]Violet[/name] feels trendier but I think it might just be because the name had a resurgence it came back into the mainstream after a lull in popularity, but [name]Juliet[/name] has always been there. not necessarily uncommon, but just doesn’t feel as new and reinvented (and maybe that is what feels trendy)
Well my Dh really likes the mn [name]Rose[/name], so it would be [name]Violet[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. Which I know, is two flower names, but I still think it’s really sweet sounding and it could work. It would definitely be worth the compromise in my mind, kwim? The name just seems to fit perfectly. It’s so sweet, classy, sassy, short, easy to say, spell, and pronounce, and really doesn’t have many nn’s and the one’s it does have I like. I wonder, would you consider the name a classic? I mean, even if the name does get super popular, it doesn’t take away from the beauty of the name, it’s hard to predict what’s going to happen in the future
[name]Hi[/name] bellarina! It’s so great to hear how comfortable and happy you are with the name and all of the reasons you love it. It’s a beautiful name, I hope it sticks! Its been fun reading your posts and helping. But really [name]Violet[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is wonderful and definitely a classic. Cheers!
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is stunning! So beautiful. I definitely would consider that a solid, classic name. [name]Violet[/name] has become more popular in recent years, but it is far from trendy/made up. It has followed the pattern of many names – where it rides waves of popularity, coming in and out of favor. But it still feels like a timeless choice (I think the last peak in popularity was the early 1900s, so it is a name that has been around for a while!) I wasn’t always the biggest fan of [name]Violet[/name], but I have come to love it. I think it is a classy, sophisticated name that has a sweet and sassy side to it. It is beautiful without being frilly or syrupy sweet…and suits a girl/woman of any age. Actually, it is a name that I would love to have!
