Both choices are a little wordy, but I do like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]. MN [name_f]Snow[/name_f] does seem to add a dash of zest to the otherwise popular [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Together they feel colorful and playful.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] doesn’t work with your last name. I am not a fan of “snow” as a name. I think with [name_f]Violet[/name_f], since it is also a noun and adjective, that first and MN words as names are a bit much. You might consider a girl’s name such as [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f], that won’t sound prissy to your hubby. Is there someone you would like to honor that works with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?

I really like both! I was leaning towards [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] because it sounds very romantic, a la Dandelion Wine or [name_f]Heather[/name_f] Ale, but then I saw your last name and had to vote for [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]. [name_f]Honey[/name_f] [name_m]Davey[/name_m] is a bit too much for me.

I voted for [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] because it shares the same syllable count as [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. I also think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] is too fluffy and sweet.

I dislike [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f]

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is ok…better than yellow snow  But I really think two word names are tough.

If you want something “more punchy” and “less princess” perhaps consider:

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f]

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Neve[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Vida[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]

While [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is a lovely name, [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] sound to me like stage names, and I don’t mean Broadway.

First of all, both are beautiful and I’ve never seen either combination before. I think if seeming too “prissy” and
“princess-y” was a concern of both yours and your husbands then I’m surprised he like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f]. While it’s a lot less prissy than [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f], it immediately struck me as a sweet little princess type name. I think [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is definitely more “punchy” and fits fantastically. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] also goes incredibly well with [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. I would definitely use it!

Neither. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is already a nature name. Find another non-nature name to go with it. Two is too much.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Crumble, an Australian chocolate bar.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is a nice mix of feminine and powerful.

Both [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] are too wordy.

Both combos are very wordy, which I quite like for the imagery in a guilty pleasure way, but I think it’s a little too much. It’s a shame your SO doesn’t like [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f], I think it’s the sort of name that gives a nice feel and image, but doesn’t sound like a description with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. If I had to choose between the two, I’d choose [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] for the flow.

I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] a lot, I’m not sure how it’s too “prissy,” I think it’s very pretty. But I actually really like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f], even though it sounds a bit like you’re describing snow as purple. It has a very soft vibe to it and even though I don’t normally go for two word names next to each other, I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]'s imagery and sound.

[name_f]Honey[/name_f] doesn’t work at all with your last name, so I’d rule that out for sure.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] sounds absolutely beautiful to me. Based on your husband’s concerns about other names sounding too prissy, I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] (while a beautiful name) is too sticky sweet. I think [name_f]Snow[/name_f] gives the floral, msweet sounding [name_f]Violet[/name_f] a bit of an edge while still remaining delicate. I love the combination.

Thank you for all your replies and poll responses.

They’ve given me a lot to think about. And I have to admit I loled at the ‘they sound like stage names, and not the broadway variety’ comment :stuck_out_tongue: I guess that’s not really the vibe I’m going for!

I have nixed [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] for sure now, and while I am still quite in to [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f], I am also a bit wary about the Adjective + Noun word issue… maybe straying a bit too close to Kardashian baby naming territory :-?

I’m also now wondering whether I should reconsider [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] as a first name in order to use it i.e. [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] - which would still allow for [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] as a nickname.

Is it ok to start another poll with my new names? Is that bad etiquette on here?! I have a list of another 10 that I want to float…

I think making another poll will be just fine!
I have to admit I really like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f], but I’m not from a english speaking country, so I don’t associate the name [name_f]Violet[/name_f] quite directly with the flower and see it more as only a name.

I really don’t like [name_f]Honey[/name_f] as a name. It feels more like a pet name for someone than an actual name on its own. However, Im also not really fan of using a colour and then a word name as it sounds like you’re describing something rather than a person. So I can’t say I really like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] either. I think if I had to pick, [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is slightly better.

I much prefer [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]. I love both names individually but I personally wouldn’t put them together… I don’t like combining word names. I picture purple snow or purple honey with these names. Sorry.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] sounds like a cheap alcohol or medicine.

I like both, but I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]! (sig case in point lol!) I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Honey[/name_f] just clunks a little. [name_f]Honey[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is gorgeous though!
