I’m currently debating over Violet or Samantha with a nickname of Sam. I’m currently writing a novel but I’m not quite sure what name to give. I’ve chosen the lady name Cabrera as well. Thanks!

I find [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] (nn Sam) more down to earth and friendly than the more pretty but aloof and entitled [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - so it depends what vibe you’re going for. I really like [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] but I think your [name_f]Violet[/name_f] pairings are stronger. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] you could get a better middle for [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] instead of an A name (so not two A’s running into each other and also to make it flow better). I think [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Lune[/name_f], Plume, [name_f]Faye[/name_f] or [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] etc would go with [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] better than [name_f]Ayla[/name_f].
I’m partial to [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], it’s one of my favorite names and I love the nickname [name_u]Sam[/name_u].
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is soooo gorgeous and romantically book character-esque! I used to not be super loving of either name, but this combo is making me love both RN.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] ‘Sam’ give me very different vibes so I think it depends on the character!
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] is sleeker to me, more elegant, with a bit of sass and kick, maybe a little more ‘ladylike’?
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f] is a bit clunkier, a little ‘stronger’ in sound, and [name_u]Sam[/name_u] is both unisex and rough-and-tumble, and also friendly and approachable and laidback.
I prefer [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] but I’m also a bit biased since that’s my name and I love it.

thank you! if this helps, my character is a teen who is a pretty shy girl, but very well spoken. in leaning towards [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] “Sam” at the moment but that could change. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite middle name is [name_f]Luna[/name_f] by far though!
