Me and OH have recently started TTC and have started looking at names. So far we don’t agree on anything but i know there’s no rush. Anyway i’m loving [name]Violet[/name] at the moment but i’m slightly concerned at it’s rising popularity, is it going to become really popular?

Depends on where you live. It has gotten a fair bit of cultural/celeb press since it was used for little Affleck, in the Series of Unfortunate Events books, in the movie The Incredibles, and as characters names in TV shows like Downton [name]Abbey[/name] and Private Practice. In the US, [name]Violet[/name] has been rising steadily in popularity for the past 10 years from being ranked in the mid-800s to 123 (as of 2010; as a stick of comparison, [name]Nicole[/name] is ranked next door). I don’t know where it stands in [name]Britain[/name], but I don’t think it has cracked the Top 100 the way [name]Violet[/name] has in Australia. Personally, I don’t think it will achieve the far-reaching popularity (in the US anyway) that [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], etc. are enjoying, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it wriggled its way into the Top 100 soon. I don’t know how popular is too popular for you; [name]Violet[/name] is gorgeous (the top of my list a few year ago!) so if you love it, I say use it. Or perhaps you might use [name]Viola[/name], which sounds similar, possesses a deeper literary/musical history, and is far less popular (it lost its Top 1000 ranking in the 1970s)…
I think [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] (and [name]Viola[/name] and [name]Esme[/name]) sound beautiful together! [name]Violet[/name] [name]Eulalie[/name] is fine by my book (perhaps a lot of Ls, but I’m not bothered). You might also like [name]Violet[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name], [name]Violet[/name] [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Violet[/name] [name]Ottilie[/name] (similar to [name]Eulalie[/name], but one L shorter), [name]Violet[/name] [name]Adele[/name], [name]Violet[/name] [name]Minerva[/name], or [name]Violet[/name] Dephine (a bit too floral?).
I’m not the biggest fan of [name]Esme[/name] because these days it unfortunately screams “Twilight!” even if it’s been your favorite name for years. [name]Violet[/name], however, is absolutely darling. I can see it gaining popularity in the coming years, but never reaching the likes of [name]Ava[/name]/[name]Emma[/name]/etc.
I really love [name]Violet[/name]! I think it will continue to climb in popularity, but I don’t think it will reach the top. I agree with swingset that [name]Esme[/name] screams Twilight. However, it is pretty and sounds great with [name]Violet[/name].
I love [name]Violet[/name], but wouldn’t use it at the moment due to its inevitable popularity. That said, I think [name]Violet[/name] [name]Eulalie[/name] is gorgeous. I think it would go great with [name]Esme[/name]. If you love it, then you should forget about popularity and use it.
