Violeta

This is the spanish/portuguese violet… Thats Why it is written Violeta and this is the most similar pronounciation I found (the let part is very soft):
Similar ronounciation video
I am Looking for names that would fit better where I live and this is one I like…
But there are two problems:

  1. The Tv show which I dont like and would want it being associated with it
  2. The popularity… i have never met a little violeta but I know it is getting popular which worries me because I dont like that

Nn would probably be: Vita or Lettie
Probable sisters: emelina, concha/sancha, juniper matilde, calliope, arabella/astoria, lavinia

What are you opinions on Violeta?

I think the show will become a dated reference. I am a bit older than the target audience, but I remember it wasn’t such a hit [in my area] as expected (compared to RBD which was/is memorable even years later).

Popularity is all about preference. How popular is this name? Is there data on how many Violetas there are in your area? Are there leaps in popularity?

I like the name [name_f]Violeta[/name_f] - I love the easy imagery of word names; it has a lot of nicknames; and it has an easy spelling and pronounciation. The only con is that, while writing this comment, I misspelt [name_f]Violeta[/name_f] as “violenta” (violent) twice . Still love the name!

I think it’s lovely. It reminds of [name_f]Violeta[/name_f] Parra (the Chilean singer-songwriter). I also used to have a teacher named [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] and I always found it to be a beautiful name.

I’m not familiar with the TV show (I don’t think it was broadcast in my country). I also can’t really comment about popularity since I’m not sure where you live. Plus, whether a name is “too popular” or not is subjective.

I dont know what the show [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] is and I doubt most people would
I dont really imagine [name_f]Violeta[/name_f] getting too popular especially with most people picking [name_f]Violet[/name_f] instead, the only issue I cans see with that is if it gets too popular in your specific area
I prefer [name_f]Violeta[/name_f] to violet, and considering your dislike of popularity and other name options I think it’s a great choice

[name_f]Violeta[/name_f], [name_f]Matilde[/name_f], and [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] are darling together

I’ve never heard of the TV show and I’m not sure I can comment on the popularity as I’m not in Portugal

The show was very popular in europe I guess but Not so much in [name_u]America[/name_u] and my biggest fear is people always associate the name to it since I dont like the show

I dont think it is the most popular name but I do think it is much more popular than the other ones I love
