Virginia Mary?

I recently fell in love with the combination, [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. But do you think that it is too similar to Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f]?? I’d love to hear your opinion/ suggestions! Thanks!

Well, Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] was what I though when I first saw it, but I think it’s lovely. It’s unique, I haven’t met a [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] yet

I immediately thought of the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f], and I think a lot of people would when they first saw the name. If that’s not something you’re going for, I’d change it. I do [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] though.

I thought of Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] as well when I first saw it but people don’t use their middle names that much so if you like it then go for it! Other options instead of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are: [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Mariel[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_u]Merle[/name_u] and [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f]. Instead of [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]:- [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], Vespy, [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

I would prefer [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f].

Something like [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f] would lessen the association.

I really like boyandgirl’s suggestion of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f].

If you are no opposed to two middle names I would stick one in between to lesson the association.
Something like [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
Otherwise though, I love the combo and wouldn’t find it a big deal.
I’m not religious so I don’t have much reference, but if you are [name_m]Christian[/name_m] maybe this is a positive association for your family? Not everyone will know her middle name, so it’s not too in your face and could be a lovely religious aspect to her name? (Forgive me if this is somehow offensive… I truly know nothing about religion!)

The Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] was the first thing I thought of. I would assume she came from a Catholic family.

[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] sounds way to much like Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] to me. I do love Viginia though. [name_m]How[/name_m] about a variation of [name_f]Mary[/name_f]?
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Millie[/name_f]

Unfortunately, Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] was also the first thing I thought of. I do love [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ginny[/name_f]!

If you don’t like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], I think pp’s suggestions of [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is great!

Most people will be reminded of the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] if they saw or heard the combo [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. Since we don’t use our mn’s very often in real life that’s not a problem. If you were going to use both names, what’s wrong with the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f]? She wasn’t a bad person, was she? I think the combo is very pretty and you love it!

It was the first thing I thought of, but I agree with what [name_u]Mischa[/name_u] said! If you love it, then use it  If you’re a [name_m]Christian[/name_m], then the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is a pretty awesome person

I misread it as Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I think they are wayyy too similar. I second the suggestions of [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].

I come from a very Catholic family and I didn’t think of Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] at all, though that association is certainly not negative. I think [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is gorgeous. It’s by far the loveliest [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] combo I’ve ever heard.

[name_m]Way[/name_m] too close to Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] for me. Sorry!

I think it is pretty, but when I first saw the thread I read it as Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and did a double take.

Thank you, dillonsfan01! I really do still love the combination. And I like what other people have said, too…[name_m]Even[/name_m] if it does remind people of Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f], there’s nothing wrong with that because she was definitely an amazing and wonderful person!

I like both names, but I think it is WAYYY too similar to Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] if that’s not what you’re going for. That was the first thing I thought when I saw it. But it is a pretty combination!

I love the idea of naming a daughter after [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. But I find [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] too close to Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] as well. I much prefer [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]. That retains all the sentiment without the confusion.
