I love the name [name]Virginia[/name]. If we decide on it we plan on nick naming her [name]Ginger[/name] or [name]Gigi[/name] depending on what we feel fits her but mostly will use her full name. [name]Do[/name] you think the virgin and the vagina aspect make it bad to use. My husband likes it but has some reservations about it. We also like [name]Lucinda[/name] but hate the name [name]Cindy[/name] as a nick name. We like [name]Lucy[/name] a nick name. For [name]Georgia[/name] we also like [name]Gigi[/name] for a nick name. We also like marlena (mar-lay-na) with nick name marni if we used one
I love [name]Virginia[/name] and I think it’s so sad that it has such teasing potential because it has so much depth and history. I would personally go with [name]Georgia[/name] though, because it’s just as classy but has less teasing potential. I have a 2 year old cousin named [name]Georgia[/name] and she’s adorable. I love the nickname [name]Marnie[/name] but I can’t get into [name]Marlena[/name]. [name]Lucinda[/name] just isn’t that pretty to be blunt and it definitely isn’t as classy as the others. [name]Virginia[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name] are both great choices!
I’ve never thought the virgin/vagina association was that bad…until I met a friend named [name]Virginia[/name]. No one said anything as an adult, but she said she got teased a lot as a child, which is sad because I like the name [name]Virginia[/name] a lot.
[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]- If you’re worried about the virgin/vagina teasing, [name]Scarlett[/name] as a MN may not be the best idea. I see a lot of period jokes in her future.
[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]- Two state names seems heavy handed.
[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]- A nice combo.
[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] - My favorite of your [name]Virginia[/name] combos
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]- Flows nicely, but I’m not a fan of the name [name]Celeste[/name].
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Iris[/name]- I dislike two noun names put together. It sounds like a variety of [name]Iris[/name], not a name.
[name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Kate[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Iris[/name]- Also nice.
[name]Marlena[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]- [name]Marlene[/name] sounds a bit stuffy to me, but if you use it, [name]Beatrice[/name] is a nice MN.
[name]Marlena[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]- I like [name]Ruth[/name], but combined wit [name]Marlena[/name] it sounds very granny, and not in a chic way.
My favorite of your first name suggestions is [name]Georgia[/name], but of the combos you suggested I like [name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Kate[/name] or [name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Iris[/name] the best. What about [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Kate[/name] or [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]?
I think Virgina is absolutely useable. Especially with nicknames like “[name]Ginny[/name]” or “[name]Gigi[/name]”.
I love “[name]Lucy[/name]” as a nickname choice for [name]Lucinda[/name]. I feel like it’s the natural nickname choice over “[name]Cindy[/name]”.
[name]Georgia[/name] is another solid name with lots of nickname possibilities, “[name]Gigi[/name]” is pretty cute.
I like the way you pronounce [name]Marlena[/name], I do think it could easily be mispronounced though.
My favorite for each of your combos:
[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Kate[/name] (My fav)
[name]Marlena[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
I love the name [name]Lucinda[/name] it’s actually on my list also how about [name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] instead of [name]Iris[/name]. [name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is cute.
[name]Marlena[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] is cute.
Personally I love [name]Virginia[/name] but I would use it as a middle name and have [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Virginia[/name] as a name. I know 1 person called [name]Virginia[/name] and she hates the name she calls her self [name]Ginny[/name].
I like all three, but especially [name]Virginia[/name] and [name]Lucinda[/name].
If the teasing potential bothers you, I’d go with [name]Lucinda[/name], which gives you the spunky n’ cute nn [name]Lucy[/name] to go with the quirky yet elegant formal/full name.
But [name]Virginia[/name] is so classic and underused to me, and tbh I can see most kids toughing out teasing that boils down to lame “virgin” wordplay especially when she has the lovely nn [name]Ginny[/name] (or [name]Ginger[/name]/[name]Gigi[/name]) to fall back on. If she doesn’t appreciate that name as an adolescent, it’s definitely something she’d grow to embrace as an adult.
