As we have officially decided to change our daughters name ([name_f]Felicity[/name_f]), I have been looking everywhere for the perfect name to match my babies beautiful face. I’ve always liked the name [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], and so does my partner. [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] is one of the few names left, that we are considering. Whenever I say it, and I look at her face, it matches. It feels like her. I’m only worried because [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] doesn’t seem like a baby name. It seems like a name for an adult, and I’m not sure if it would be well received. WDYT?
I really like [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] the whole name itself may seem like such a big name for such a tiny human being, but she will grow
There are several nicknames that sort of work to make this more wearable on a little girl, namely [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] and [name_f]Vi[/name_f] (I know one who goes by [name_f]Vi[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]). Anyhow, I think [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] is a strong, sweet name that works well for any age and I can picture a [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] doing anything career-wise. It works pretty well with with your other girls’ names, especially [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f], and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
it sounds like this is the “it” name for her, from what you were saying. Out of curiosity, do you intend to keep her middle names the same?
@namergirl3- We probably wouldn’t keep [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], but I was thinking about keeping [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. My daughter, [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] really wants the baby to be named after her, so we were thinking about [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] (Bristols mn) to be one of her middle names. [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] is also a name we are considering for her fn. But we won’t make a final decision on her mn, until we have a fn.
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous! One of my favorites.
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is lovely!
I always like [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]. And babies won’t be babies forever, so I think you’re kinda overthinking it. There are lots of possible nicknames ([name_f]Vi[/name_f], [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], [name_f]Gigi[/name_f], etc) too, if you don’t want to call your baby with the full name.
I like [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] quite a lot, but I am not sure if I’d like to have “virgin” in my name. I don’t know.
I love [name_f]Virginia[/name_f].
More love for [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]. Its adult, sophisticated, classic, full of character but it has a certain vulnerability not associated with anatomical references, which put it on top of my first list for a girl. My best friends name in fact, but eventual we did not use it because I knew she would feel guilty about not reciprocating.
Its a pearl!
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] is a beautiful name, very elegnat and refined. It’s DH’s grandmother’s name and she goes by [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], which I’ve always loved.
I do understand what you mean about it being a “grown-up name”, but a sweet nickname like [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], [name_f]Genie[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] or Vee would make it 100% wearable and adorable for a little girl.
Well done on having the guts to make the change! If you feel that [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] fits her and is “the one”, I think you should go for it and not look back. Good luck
